Although there were several players who hit well during the pre All Star break road trip, the results were still mediocre at best. Of course, the pitching staff surrendering forty-four runs in seven games certainly put the pressure on the offense. Needless to say, I did not miss them while they were out of town. I am well aware of the fact that the Barons are still in the hunt for a second half crown, there are 51 games total left in the season. But, to win, you have to sustain some semblence of success and have some luck. The Barons have no luck and cannot maintain any momentum regardless. A six game winning streak turns into a poorly played four game losing streak. It’s up and down, but mostly down. And that has made for a long season. I love baseball, but I hate hoping for the season to end. Can the Barons have a magical turnaround like the parent club has had and win twenty-five out of thirty? I think the season so far speaks for itself.
