Star of the Day: Micah Johnson went 3-5 and added his third stolen base of the season tonight. Johnson isn’t stealing bags at the prolific rate he was last season, but his bat is red hot. He is hitting .356/.433/.542 at the top of the Barons lineup thus far.
Who is Hot: Trayce Thompson went 2-4 with a double and a stolen base tonight and has hit safely in 13 of his 15 games this season. Minor league veteran Terry Doyle tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out five. Courtney Hawkins smacked his fourth home run of the season.
Who is Not: Gordon Beckham went 0-4 and is now hitting .143 on his rehab assignment. Braulio Ortiz struggled with his command, walking six and only lasted three innings. Keon Barnum went 0-4 and struck out twice. Barnum has struck out in nearly half his at-bats. Tim Anderson had two more errors tonight, giving him nine errors on the season.
