Star of the Day: Adam Engel had a strong performance last year in Great Falls Rookie Ball, posting a .301/.379/.414 line. This season he has started out of the gates slow, but has picked up his game lately. Engel went 3-4 with two doubles, a walk, and his league leading 13th stolen base combined over the doubleheader today.
Who is Hot: Robinson Leyer pitched 5.1 strong innings to earn the victory in Kannapolis. Micah Johnson had a stat-stuffing night, he went 2-3 with a double, a run batted in, a walk, and a stolen base. Rangel Ravelo still rules the world, reaching base in three out of four at bats. Rule V draft pick Evan Crawford struck out two over two scoreless innings.
Who is Not: Fringe prospect Andre Wheeler struggled in his third ever professional start. Cleuluis Rondon went 0-5 today with a field error, but did chip in a walk and a stolen base. One time prized prospect Nestor Molina was roughed up in his one inning of work, giving up two homers.
