The Sox affiliates dropped a couple of extra innings games and split a pair of blowouts. The Intimidators rolled all over Lakewood by eight runs thanks to a strong start and an overpowering offensive attack.

Star of the Day: Danny Hayes was drafted as a collegiate slugger and his bat didn’t disappoint tonight. Hayes raised his average from .275 to .292 and blasted his 2nd home run of the season.
Who is Hot: Erik Johnson made a second consecutive strong AAA start, only allowing two earned runs over seven innings, striking out four. Former Mets closer Frank Francisco is seemingly ready for the Show again; he’s pitched eight scoreless innings with twelve strikeouts and one walk this season. Kannapolis starter Jake Sanchez has pitched so well this season that because he allowed a single run tonight in his six innings, his ERA actual rose slightly. Nonetheless, Sanchez was brilliant, striking out eight and not walking a batter.
Who is Not: Micah Johnson has cooled considerably after his red hot April, only hitting .233 thus far in May. Courtney Hawkins went 0-5 with two strikeouts and looked overmatched, according to a scout in attendance. Hawkins is hitting .182/.333/.394 over his last ten games, which is more reminiscent of his 2013 season. Myles Jaye got roughed up over his five innings of work and his ERA spiked to 5.25.
