Star of the Day: Carlos Sanchez went 3-5 with a double, triple, and a stolen base in a stat-stuffing day for the young infielder. Sanchez was coming off a four strikeout game which snapped a streak of 25 straight games of him reaching base, so it was a good bounce back effort. Sanchez is finally figuring out Charlotte at age 21 with an impressive .282/.364/.344 line.
Who is Hot: I am optimistically putting Matt Davidson on here following his three hit outburst today. Davidson had been anything but hot leading up to this game, only having three hits in his previous nine contests. He raised his average from .152 up to .174, here is hoping it continues to rise. Switch hitting catcher Miguel Gonzalez had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-2 with a walk. Cleuluis Rondon went 2-4 with a walk tonight, raising his season average to .268.
Who is Not: Trayce Thompson has been ice cold lately, batting .171 over his past ten games. Thompson has been avoiding the strikeout this season more so than in previous seasons, but tonight he struck out three times. Myles Jaye got roughed up in another start, his ERA is up to 5.49 on the season. Adam Engel went 0-5 with a strikout, dropping his season average to .238.
