Due to previous postponed contests, incredibly there were seven baseball games in the White Sox minor leagues tonight. The Sox only won two of them, but there were plenty of impressive individual performances throughout the levels. Chris Sale struck out eleven batters through four one-hit innings, as dominating a performance as you’d expect from a Cy Young contender against minor leaguers.

Star of the Day: You know you’ve had a rough start to the season when a 3-5 day at the plate raises your average to .190. Matt Davidson has had a nightmare beginning of the season, but he blasted his fourth homer and walked in a strong performance during Charlotte’s doubleheader. Don’t forget Davidson just turned 23, if he emerges from this skid as strong as before this could be good for him longterm.
Who is Hot: Courtney Hawkins had a slump-busting doubleheader performance himself, going 4-6 with two doubles and a walk. Fellow Dash teammate Tim Anderson had a nice night offensively, going 3-8 with a stolen base. Micah Johnson continues to hit after his promotion to Charlotte, going 4-8 tonight. Trey Michalczewski went 3-6 with two doubles and a walk, raising his season average to .273.
Who is Not: Trayce Thompson continues to slide, going 0-4 with a strikeout tonight, dropping his season average to .223. Cleuluis Rondon went 0-5 over the two Kannapolis games. Tim Anderson committed four fielding errors at shortstop during the second Winston-Salem game. Anderson has seventeen errors on the season and I wonder how long the Sox will let him butcher shortstop before trying him at other positions.
