5/25/14 Recap: Carlos Sanchez hits a rare roundtripper in big effort

Star of the Day: Carlos Sanchez, SS
Even though Charlotte took the loss today, their struggling offense did put up four home runs. Sanchez, someone who isn’t known for his power, went 4-5 with a double and a homer in the loss. You know someone has had a good day when they do something they haven’t been able to do in two calendar years. When Sanchez homered in the first inning it was the first time he homered since May 4th of 2012 when he played for Winston-Salem. In any case, hitting home runs isn’t the reason Sanchez has gotten the praise he has received as a prospect. and despite only having the one home run, Sanchez has put up a respectable .287/.368/.374/.742 in his second year at Charlotte. After playing and struggling with the Knights as the youngest player in the league, Sanchez has settled in nicely in his second campaign in the International League.  While his future is unclear with the glut of middle infielders the White Sox have, Sanchez can surely hit himself into some playing time with the club in the not-so-distant future.
