The White Sox affiliates were a perfect three for three as they swept Monday’s action. Charlotte and Kannapolis won by an identical 4-2 scores, while Birmingham walked off in the bottom of the ninth. The Intimidators swept the South Atlantic League Player of the Week awards, with the offensive category going to Trey Michalczewski and the pitching category going to Thad Lowry. The Winston-Salem Dash were rained out and will play a doubleheader tomorrow.

Star of the Day: Fresh off being named the South Atlantic League Offensive Player of the Week, Trey Michalczewski took a bow by blasting his fifth homer of the season. Michalczewski has homered in back to back games and has four homers in his last seven games. To put his power surge in perspective, Michalczewski had three homers all of last season and has eclipsed that total in his last 25 at bats.
Who is Hot: Making his first start since his rain shortened n0-hitter, Thad Lowry only allowed one run over five innings while scattering six hits. I was perplexed that OBP machine Marcus Semien was striking out so often and walking so little with the White Sox, but he seemed to have rediscovered his old habits with the Knights. Semien has nine walks and only two strikeouts since his demotion to Charlotte and homered tonight. Knight’s catcher Josh Phegley and Intimidator’s outfielder Jacob Morris also homered today.
Who is Not: In a season where you are batting .291/.397/.427, Rangel Ravelo is officially slumping by hitting only .256/.286/.282 over his last ten games. Cleuluis Rondon went 0-4 with two strikeouts and is hitting a meager .136/.231/.222 over his last ten games.
