Star of the Day: 21 year-old Robinson Leyer put up some ugly numbers in the Dominican League and in Rookie ball stateside, but he seems to have figured it out with Kannapolis this season. Over his last ten starts, Leyer owns a sparkling 1.74 ERA with 38 strikeouts and only 16 walks allowed over 57 innings pitched. He baffled the Greensboro Grasshoppers tonight, only allowing one run over six innings before exiting and being let down by his bullpen. With an improved command and a fastball that touches 96, Leyer is moving up prospect ranks.
