White Sox affiliates went 4-2 on Tuesday, with nine homers spread across the system. Some 2014 draft picks in addition to some familiar faces contributed in big ways.

Tyler Saladino led off for the Knights while Micah Johnson took the night off and went 3-5 to bring his average to .294. Matt Davidson kept his power on display with a double, although his two hits on the evening still haven’t gotten him over the Mendoza Line. Jordan Danks had a true outcome performance with a home run, walk and a strike out. Marcus Semien continued his rough season by dropping his average to .197.

Former first round pick Jared Mitchell has moved into the leadoff spot since his demotion to AA and today he responded by getting on base three times, maybe the demotion woke him up? Rangel Ravelo continued his breakout season by getting on base four times. Meanwhile Kevan Smith may be eyeing a promotion by going 2-4 in wake of Josh Phegley’s supposed benching.

Courtney Hawkins hit his 12th home run of the season, tying him for the second most in the Carolina League alongside teammate Jason Coats, who went 3-4 on the night. Keon Barnum continues to heat up by hitting his first home run in June and has a hit in 9 of his last 10 games for a .389 average over that span.

Kannapolis lost a slug fest after Andrew Mitchell got lit up to the tune of 5 earned runs. Cleuluis Rondon showed off his bat Tuesday by going 2-5. Danny Hayes brought his OBP to .395 by going 3-5 on the day while 2014 fourth round draft pick and Carlos Rodon’s college battery mate Brett Austin hit a double as he adjusts to pro-ball.

The DSL White Sox had themselves a 13 inning game against the DSL D-Back that featured 14 hits for the Sox affiliate to go along with 7 errors. DH Gesel Dalmasi reached based four times and LF Hanleth Otano hit two doubles, though the DSL White Sox simply couldn’t string together their hits into RBIs.

Great Falls won in walk off fashion with Zach Fisher, not to be confused with 2014 draft pick and teammate Zach Fish, driving in Ryan Leonards to win the game. Speaking of Leonards the 2014 draft pick had a great night at the plate with four hits. Fellow 2014 draft pick Jake Peter went 3-4 while the other draftees at Great Falls, Louie Lechich and Zach Fish, each had a hit of their own. 2014 3rd round pick Jace Fry picked up the win in relief.
Star of the Day: 2014 21st round draft pick Ryan Leonards had a great day by getting four hits including a triple, picking up an RBI, and scoring the walk-off run for the Voyagers. The infielder out of the University of Louisiana – Lafayette has come out the gate roaring to the tune of a .421 average.
Who is Hot: Birmingham first baseman Rangel Ravelo continues to rake having hit .385/.432/.667 over his last 10 games with 9 RBIs. Currently blocked by Dan Black and Andy Wilkins at AAA, Ravelo will need to start to display some power to compliment his emerging hit tool.
