7/1/14 Recap: Saladino, Phegley, and Thompson all go yard

White Sox affiliates went 4-3 on Tuesday, with a number of notable prospects hitting home runs and staying hot at the plate, though it was an overall barren day offensively from the Sox farm.

Tyler Saladino started his second straight day at first base on his journey to becoming a utility man at the next level  and had a fine day to continue his hot play. Josh Phegley also clubbed a home run. Marcus Semien has continued to struggle since his demotion to AAA. Deunte Heath struck out 10 batters over 6 frames, making a strong case to be next on the list of White Sox spot starters.

The Barons slugged their way to an easy victory behind a strong start from Chris Beck, who departed after 91 pitches. Rangel Ravelo extended his hit streak to 18 games while Trayce Thompson hit his 9th home run on the year.

Trey Michalczewski was able to power the Intimidators to victory over Delmarva with his 8th homer of the season. Cleuluis Rondon and Jeremy Dowdy also chipped in some help on the offensive end, each with an RBI.  Dowdy’s HR was his first as a pro.
