The holiday weekend continued with four wins for White Sox affiliates and some offensive explosions.

Nick McCully 6 IP, 2 R, 2 K, 3 BB, 3 H
Braulio Ortiz IP, 2 BB
That’s a AA debut for Ortiz. The 22-year-old drew some attention by striking out 103 batters in 90 innings last season between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem, but he hasn’t improved his control enough to be an effective starter. He had nine starts and 11 relief appearances this year with the Dash with a 5.05 ERA, 51 K, 33 BB in 51.2 IP.
Wilmington 3, Dash 2
Jacob May 0-3, BB
Joey DeMichele 0-4
Jason Coats 3-4
Keon Barnum 2-3, 2B, K
Cleuluis Rondon 0-4
Terance Marin 8 IP, 2 R, 5 K, 0 BB, 6 H
Rondon is only 1-14 since moving up to Winston-Salem, although the 20-year-old has just one strikeout so maybe there’s reason to think he can bounce back quickly. It’s not a big surprise he is struggling though.
Hagerstown 3, Intimidators 1
Trey Michalczewski 0-3, K
Danny Hayes 0-2, 2 BB, E #8
Jacob Morris 0-2, 2 BB
Brett Austin 1-3, BB, 2 K
James Dykstra 7 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 4 K, BB, 8 H
Brett Austin update: The fourth round pick is hitting .244/.304/.317 in 11 games. Austin has three walks and 16 strikeouts in 46 plate appearances. Strangely he has hits in 10 of his 11 games, but no multi-hit games.
