7/8/14 recap: Six victories on the farm

White Sox affiliates – sans Birmingham – have continued their offensive explosion as of late with powerful offense leading the Knights, Dash, Intimidators, DSL White Sox, and Voyagers to victory.
Charlotte 11, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 6
The Knights hammered the Railriders on Tueday with a relentless attack. Tyler Saladino, playing first, led the way with a 3-5 game to raise his average to .316 and Josh Phegley had his own 3-5 game featuring a homer. Meanwhile Marcus Semien continues to rebound with two hits, a walk and three RBIs. Matt Davidson went 1-5 to keep his batting average above the Mendoza Line, though a good sign is that he recorded no strikeouts.
Tennessee 7, Birmingham 3
The Smokies pitching staff continued to mystify the Barons bats with the team only recording four hits that included singles from Trayce Thompson and Chris Curley, a single from Rangel Ravelo to extend his hitting streak to 25 games and a homer for Jared Mitchell who is experiencing a rebirth after his demotion to AA. Nestor Molina pitched 2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
Winston-Salem 13, Myrtle Beach 9
The Dash, still without star prospects Courtney Hawkins and Tim Anderson, exploded for 13 runs against the Pelicans. Keenyn Walker and Jason Coats each had 3-5 games, with Walker getting his average to .200 finally. Coats and Joey DeMichele, who had a triple, each had three RBIs. Jacob May continued heating up with a single in three at-bats, but two walks. Even Cleuluis Rondon got in the fun with another two hit game and chipped in two RBIs. Starter Jeffrey Wendelken got knocked around in 3.1 IP giving up 8 ER on 10 hits.
Kannapolis 12, Greensboro 2
The Intimidators blew out the Grasshoppers behind some big games from big names. Adam Engel went 2-5 with a home run, Trey Michalczewski went 3-4 with a double, Danny Hayes went 2-5 with a homer, and Brett Austin went 2-3 with a walk, double, and three RBIs. Starter Robinson Leyer went the distance in the rain shortened game, giving up only two runs in 7 IP.
DSL White Sox 8, DSL Twins 7
The DSL White Sox eeked out a victory against the DSL Twins thanks to some unearned runs, the White Sox had one while the Twins had two, behind an impressive day from first baseman Carlos Gonzalez who drove in three runs with a homer and catcher Daniel Gonzalez who went 2-3 with a walk and an RBI.
Great Falls 3, Ogden 2
Jake Peter has continued to tear up rookie ball since debuting by going 2-4 in this game to raise his average to a phenomenal .435. Fellow 2014 draftee Zach Fish went 1-3 with a walk and run scored. Starter Chris Freudenberg went six innings giving up no runs on four hits with five strikeouts.
AZL White Sox 10, AZL Athletics 7
The AZL White Sox won in extra innings against the AZL Athletics scoring three runs in the bottom of the 13th to break a 7-7 tie. Antonio Rodriguez had three RBIs and a walk, Michael Suiter went 2-5 with 2 RBIs and big time prospect Micker Adolfo went 1-6 with a single, walk, and three strikeouts. Starter Luis Martinez went 5 innings giving up only two runs on four hits, albeit with four walks.
