Rangel Ravelo tacked on to his impressive hitting streak on Thursday, he has now had a hit in 26 consecutive games. The Knights and Barons combined for 26 hits, while Kannapolis could only come up with one.
Syracuse 11, Charlotte 6
The Knights pounded out 13 hits and pushed across six runs, but a barrage of late runs allowed the Syracuse Chiefs to win. It was an excellent day for the 1-2-3 hitters for the Knights, as Marcus Semien, Carlos Sanchez, and Josh Phegley combined to go 9-13. Marcus Semien has rebounded nicely, hitting .324/.439/.441 in July.
Birmingham 7, Jackson 4
Rangel Ravelo went 3-4 with a walk to increase his hitting streak to an amazing 26 games. Ravelo is absolutely locked in right now, hitting .457/.523/.657 over his past ten games. Trayce Thompson went 2-5 with a homer and a double, and Kevan Smith went 1-4 with a double and a walk.
Winston-Salem 3, Myrtle Beach 2
Jacob May lead off the game with his 2nd homer of the season and Keon Barnum went 2-4 with a double to lead the Dash to victory. Terance Marin was released by the White Sox in April after some disastrous outings, but rejoined the Dash in June and has been lights out. Since returning to the White Sox organization, Marin has posted a 1.08 ERA over 33.1 innings, striking out 27 and only walking 4. During Thursday’s game Marin pitched 7.1 innings, striking out seven and only allowing a run.
Asheville 1, Kannapolis 0
The Intimidators were one-hit and were on the wrong side of a pitchers duel. Ryan Leonards collected the only hit, he went 1-3. James Dykstra pitched brillantly, going 7.1 innings, striking out ten and only allowing 4 hits and no walks. Dykstra is deserving of a promotion, as he has a 1.97 ERA over his last 64 innings.
Great Falls 4, Ogden 1
Center fielder Chevy Clark and catcher Zach Stoner combined to go 4-7 and starting pitcher Dane Stone pitched six scoreless innings to earn the victory.
AZL White Sox 7, AZL Brewers 3
Outfielder Michael Suiter blasted a three run home run to help the AZL White Sox take the game. Suiter has a .353/.443/.510 line in Arizona so far this season.
