Only four Sox affiliates played on Monday with the Knights, Dash, and AZL White Sox taking the night off. The Barons lost in the ninth, the Intimidators won in extras, DSL White Sox thumped their opponent and the Voyagers had a solid game from its big names.
Chattanooga 8, Birmingham 7
Rangel Ravelo had a good night for the Barons, going 2-4 with a double, home run and two RBIs. Grant Buckner entered the game for Christian Marrero (1-1, RBI) had a home run and three RBIs of his own. Sadly, the bullpen cost the Barons a win behind a decent start from Myles Jaye who went 5.2 IP giving up 4 ER on 8 hits and walking and striking out three apiece.
Kannapolis 5, Hickory 4
The Intimidators walked off against the Crawdads on a passed ball in the top of the 10th as Christian Stringer (3-5), Trey Michalczewski (2-4, 3B, BB), Danny Hayes (2-5, 2B, RBI) and Jacob Morris (3-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI) all had solid days at the plate. Scoring the winning run was Toby Thomas was at the plate when Morris scored the game winning run, and Thomas went 2-3. Starter Thad Lowry went 5.1 IP, gave up two earned runs, walked one, and struck out four.
Great Falls 5, Orem 1
The Voyagers beat the Owlz behind a strong start from Luis Martinez, who pitched five innings of three hit ball, all while striking out six and only walking two. Jake Peter continued his quest to return to .400 by going 2-4 with 4 RBIs, a triple and a home run.
DSL White Sox 16, DSL Padres 5
The DSL White Sox thumped the DSL Padres by scoring 16 runs, all without a long ball. Ramon Beltre had three RBIs and two walks while going 2-4, Yolberth Gideon had three walks and went 2-3, and Roger Ramos and Maiker Feliz each also had three runs driven in.
