White Sox Minor League Recap 8/25: Semien stays hot

Charlotte 6, Norfolk 4
Marcus Semien snapped his streak of three consecutive games with a homer, but he did go 2-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base. Semien played shortstop last night and is hitting .447 over his past ten contests and I expect he will be in Chicago when the roster expand next week. Josh Phegley homered for the second consecutive night and Matt Davidson went 1-3 with a walk as the Knights outpaced the Tides.
Mississippi 8, Birmingham 3
Trayce Thompson is riding a hot streak, he went 2-4 and is hitting .342 over his past ten games. Tim Anderson, Kevan Smith, and Rangel Ravelo all went 1-4 with a double. Starter Chris Bassitt was handed his first loss of the season in by far his worst outing. Bassitt only lasted 3.2 innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits and three walks.
Carolina 6, Winston-Salem 5 (12 innings)
The Winston-Salem Dash were swept at home in a four game series for the first time since August of 2008. Adam Engel and Jake Peter were a strong 1-2 punch at the top of the lineup going 2-6 and Omar Narvaez went 3-5 with a double and a walk. However, it was not enough as Adam Lopez allowed three runs to score in 0.2 innings and Zach Isler allowed a 12th inning run to cross home plate.
Missoula 5, Great Falls 3 (Game 1)
Starter Dane Stone was touched up for five runs on thirteen hits and the Voyager offense could only respond with four hits of their own. Zach Fisher went 1-2 with a walk and Hunter Jones went 1-3 with a stolen base to lead the team.
Great Falls 3, Missoula 2 (Game 2)
The pitching combination of Anthony Santiago, Aaron Bummer, and Jon Bengard only allowed five hits and one earned run as the Voyagers took game two from the Missoula Ospreys. Hunter Jones, Zach Stoner, and Mason Robbins had two hits a piece as the Voyagers scored two timely runs in the bottom of the 7th to earn a walk-off win.
AZL White Sox 7, AZL Rangers 2
Catcher Jose Barraza and outfielder Louis Silverio homered for the Arizona League White Sox as the rolled over the Rangers. Starter Victor Done did not allowed an earned run over his five innings and the White Sox reliever followed suit to ensure the victory.
