The focus was on the draft on Monday, but one White Sox full season affiliate did take the field. Charlotte picked up a win while Birmingham and Winston-Salem were rained out.
Knights 7, Pawtucket 2
Charlotte blasted five homers in this game, with two each coming from Jason Coats and Trayce Thompson and one more from Kevan Smith. Coats is up to six homers since joining Charlotte on April 23. Thompson also has six home runs with Charlotte this season. Smith went yard for the third time in 2015.
Terance Marin (6 IP, 3 K, BB, 5 H) earned the win with six scoreless innings. He made his season debut for Charlotte after spending the early part of the season in the Mexican League. He had a 4.94 ERA in 10 appearances, 9 starts for Tijuana. Marin, 25, spent the previous five years in the White Sox organization, but never pitched in AAA until Monday’s start.
