The Charlotte Knights and the Winston-Salem Dash were rained out on Saturday, but every other affiliate was in action.
Jackson 4, Birmingham 2
Starter Tyler Danish labored through his five innings, giving up three runs, and the Barons offense couldn’t muster much support. Tim Anderson went 2-4 from the leadoff spot and is hitting .381 over his past ten contests with only four strikeouts over that time. Third baseman Nick Delmonico went 2-3 with two doubles and a walk and is hitting over .500 since being promoted to the Barons. Reliever Zach Isler pitched two perfect innings of relief and Tyler Barnette struck out four batter over two innings to finish the game.
Asheville 4, Kannapolis 0
Starter Luis Martinez was let down by his defense as he did not allow an earned run, however, he walked five and three unearned runs crossed the plate over his 1.2 innings. The Intimidators bullpen was very solid as Jose Brito came on and only allowed one run while tossing 5.1 innings and Jacob Morris pitched two scoreless innings. The Kannapolis offense only had three hits and third baseman Ryan Leonards had two of them, as he went 2-2 with a walk.
Great Falls 11, Helena 5
The Great Falls Voyagers bats carried the day as they tallied 11 runs on 11 hits. Leadoff man Frank Califano set the table nicely as he reached base four times to raise his season on base percentage to .514. Second baseman Jake Jarvis took advantage by going 2-3 with two doubles and walk, driving in four runs. Johan Cruz, Nick Massey, and Ryan Jones also chipped in two hits each to help rout the Helena Brewers. Starter Tanner Banks threw five innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk.
AZL Padres 3, AZL White Sox 1
The AZL White Sox held a 1-0 lead into the 8th inning, but reliever Jaider Rocha gave up three costly runs to drop the ballgame. Starter Yosmer Solorzano pitched six scoreless innings in his second start of the season to lower his ERA to 1.64. Catcher Jhoandro Alfaro went 1-3 and Bradley Strong went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
DSL White Sox 10, DSL Padres 3
The DSL White Sox easily defeated the DSL Padres on Saturday thanks to an overall strong offensive performance.
