White Sox Minor League Recap 7/2/2015: Jake Peter’s streak reaches 10

The Barons were rained out again as they were supposed to play a doubleheader Thursday. Every other affiliate was in action.
Gwinnett 7, Charlotte 4
Nearly every Knight starter had a hit but they could not survive a 9th inningĀ Matt Lindstrom meltdown as the Gwinnett Braves rallied for the win on Thursday. The Knights saw a 4-1 9th inning lead evaporate as Lindstorm allowed six runs (four earned) over 1.2 innings. Starter Junior Guerra was excellent, pitching four innings and only allowed one run on two hits and one walk. Rehabbing Matt Albers and call-up hopeful Maikel Cleto each made a scoreless relief appearance. Offensively, Micah Johnson led the charge by going 2-4 with a triple and Tyler Saladino also went 2-4 with two runs batted in.
Carolina 3, Winston-Salem 1
Starter Brian Clark had a strong start, going six innings and allowed two runs but the Winston-Salem lineup was held to only two hits. Carolina starter Andrew Waszak had a no-hitter going into the 7th when Jake Peter singled and eventually scored on a Trey Michalczewski sacrifice fly. Peter ended the day with both of the Dash hits to extend his hitting streak t0 ten games. Reliever Jake Cose struck out five batters over two innings while only allowing one unearned run on a hit and a walk.
West Virginia 5, Kannapolis 1
The Intimidators experienced offensive struggles similar to the Dash, as they were only able to collect four hits in defeat. Starter Thad Lowry went seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned). Shortstop Eddy Alvarez singled in the 6th and stole 2nd and 3rd base and was driven in by Louie Lechich for the lone Kannapolis run.
Great Falls 8, Missoula 5
The Voyagers rode a four run 7th inning to a victory over the Missoula Osprey on Thursday night. Second baseman Jake Jarvis went 2-5 with a double and first baseman Sikes Orvis went 1-3 with two walks and two RBI’s to lead Great Falls. Starter Tanner Banks was let down by his defense as he went five innings, allowing four runs (none earned) on five hits and no walks.
AZL White Sox 10, AZL Angels 2
Cody Daily went 3-5 with a double to increase his batting line to .400/.467/.750 and Corey Zangari hit a three-run home run to help the AZL White Sox rout the Angels. Starter Yosmer Solorzano allowed two runs over six innings while striking out four batters and giving up no walks to earn the win. Micker Adolfo went 1-4 with two runs batted in.
DSL Diamondbacks 7, DSL White Sox 5
The DSL White Sox fell to their D’Back counterparts on Thursday to drop their record to 13-16 on the season.
