White Sox Minor League Recap 8/3/2015: Intimidators shelled, Barons still in first

The Barons won, but it was pretty ugly for the other White Sox affiliates on Monday…
Birmingham 4, Tennessee 2
The Barons used a 2-out rally in the 7th to come back and win this one, maintaining their 4 game division lead. Tim Anderson had a big day offensively, with a triple and two singles in four trips and stealing his 40th bag of the season. The rest of the lineup mustered just three other hits, with Nick Delmonico hitting a home run and walking twice. Robin Leyer booked another solid start (5 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) as his prospect stock continues to rise, and Tyler Barnette added three scoreless innings while whiffing five.
Asheville 23, Kannapolis 3
No, that’s not a local high school football score. The Intimidators took a historic drubbing, possibly the worst in team history. Kannapolis ran out five pitchers, and each of them gave up at least as many runs as innings they pitched. Starter Luis Martinez gave up seven earned and didn’t record an out in the 3rd, and the bullpen fared just as badly. Jacob Morris wore the bad luck badge as he gave up six runs, but none were earned. The I’s staff walked 12 batters and allowed 3 home runs. Offensively, Michael Suiter and Alexander Simon each recorded a pair of hits, with Suiter extending his hitting streak to 13 games.
AZL Royals 7, AZL White Sox 1
The headliner here for the Sox rookie affiliate was the return of Micker Adolfo from his hamstring problems, and he recorded a pair of base hits to go along with a pair of strikeouts. Corey Zangari supplied the only run for the team with his 4th home run, and also added a single and a walk as his bat continues to heat up. Felix Mercedes and David Walker each had 2-for-4 days. Starter Yosmer Solorzano struggled through three innings, allowing four runs (but only two earned) on six hits and two walks. The AZL club committed five errors, though two of those were by Solorzano so he hurt his own cause.
DSL Padres 6, DSL White Sox 5
Maiker Feliz had a double, single and a walk as he just keeps hitting, though it wasn’t enough to lead to a win. Carlos Perez was 1-3 and drew 2 walks, Droherlin Mejia was 3-4 with a walk and Hanleth Otano had a pair of base hits with a walk.
