Toledo 6, Charlotte 1
Hector Noesi was roughed up in his start for the Knights, giving up five earned runs in six innings, but striking out three batters.
J.B. Shuck led off for the Knights during his rehab stint and went 1-3 with a walk and run scored. Jason Coats was 0-3 with an RBI sac fly for the team’s only run production. Dayan Viciedo, John Mayberry Jr. and Tyler Colvin rounded out the offense with three more singles.
Montgomery 6, Birmingham 1
Tim Anderson hasn’t been slowed down by injury and went 3-4 at the DH position on Friday night, though he was picked off twice. His season average is now at .317. Christian Marrero, Tony Thomas, Joey DeMichele and Keenyn Walker all had one single apiece.
Robin Leyer had a rough start – he went only three innings and allowed five runs on five hits and three walks.
Winston-Salem 2, Salem 1
Despite only getting three hits behind him, Jordan Guerrero grabbed a win. The lefty pitched seven strong innings of one run ball and struck out four batters en route to victory.
Adam Engel went 0-3 with a run scored and his 54th stolen base while Eddy Alvarez saw his A+ batting average drop to .356 after going 1-4 with a run scored. Jake Peter had the team’s lone RBI, with the second run coming on an error.
Hagerstown 7, Kannapolis 2
Luis Martinez took the loss for the Intimidators after giving up three runs in five innings. Mason Robbins went 1-4 with a double, walk, run scored and an RBI. Michael Suiter scored the other run after going 1-4 with a walk, upping his hitting streak to 23 games. John Ziznewski and Cody Daily each had two singles, with Ziznewski also walking.
Orem 5, Great Falls 3
The Voyagers out-hit the Owlz 14 hits to 5, but they couldn’t capitalize. Frank Califano, Johan Cruz and Grant Massey all had three hits in the game. Cruz had two RBIs, Massey had the other.
Lucas Shearrow gave up two runs, one earned, in his four innings of work.
DSL Padres 11, DSL White Sox 8
Carlos Perez went 3-4 with a triple and an RBI, Ramon Beltre went 2-4 with a double an an RBI, Jorgen Rosas went 1-4 with a three run blast and Droherlin Meijia’s average is .320 after going 1-4 with a walk.
