White Sox Minor League Recap 8/15/2015: Fulmer tosses three perfect innings

Charlotte 9, Toledo 6
Dayan Viciedo had a monster day to lift the Charlotte Knights past the Toledo Mud Hens. The former Sox slugger went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and two walks to raise his average with the Knights to .310/.344/.466. Starter Kyle Drabek earned his seventh win of the season by allowing three runs over six innings. After relievers Onelki Garcia and Junior Guerra allowed runs in their appearances, Zach Phillips nailed down the game with 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save.
Montgomery 7, Birmingham 6 (12 innings)
The Barons bullpen blew a three run 9th inning lead and eventually dropped a frusterating game to the Montgomery Biscuits on Saturday night. Starter Mark Blackmar allowed two runs over 6.1 innings and was relieved by Barons closer Peter Tago who attempted a multi-inning save. Tago was cruising along until the 9th when the wheels fell off, as three runs crossed the plate. The meltdown spoiled a huge game from first baseman Danny Hayes who blasted two home runs. Hayes, who had a healthy slugging percentage in his previous two professional seasons, had only four home runs coming into the game, so hopefully this jump starts his power. Tim Anderson went 1-3 and was ejected in the 7th for arguing balls and strikes and Jacob May went 2-5.
Winston-Salem 7, Salem 3
2015 1st round draft pick Carson Fulmer struck out two over three perfect innings as he had his best professional outing thus far. The potential ace seems to be handling Winston-Salem with ease now, as he has only allowed one run over his past nine innings and has struck out eight batter during that span. The Dash bats were alive in support of Fulmer, as they pounded out seven runs on ten hits. Shortstop Eddy Alvarez continues to be an on base machine, going 1-3 with two walks. Adam Engel, Jake Peter, and Trey Michalczewski added in two hits respectively to fuel the offense to the victory.
*The Kannapolis Intimidators were rained out and will play a double header against the Hagerstown Suns on Sunday*
Orem 2, Great Falls 1
Starter Tanner Banks was the tough-luck loser as he gave up two runs over six innings on Saturday. The Great Falls offense was no where to be found as they could only manage five hits. Second baseman Dante Flores had two of them, as he went 2-4 with a strikeout. Flores is hitting .285/.343/.439 for the Voyagers this season.
AZL White Sox 8, AZL Athletics 5
First baseman Corey Zangari came into the game hitless in his past two contests but made up for lost time by going 4-5 with two RBI’s to lead the AZL Sox to the win. The 18 year-old is hitting .305/.344/.457 on the season and has been very impressive in his professional debut. Second baseman Bradley Strong went 2-4 with two doubles and three RBI’s and DSL product Maiker Feliz went 1-4 with a RBI.
DSL White Sox 11, DSL Padres 9
The DSL Sox pounded out eleven hits and eleven runs to win a high scoring affair over the DSL Padres.
