Charlotte 3, Gwinnett 1
Hector Noesi picked up the win for the Knights after six shutout innings where he walked three. Daniel Webb gave up a run in relief and Terance Marin locked down his first save of the year.
Micah Johnson had a great first day back in AAA – the speedster went 1-3 with a walk. Leury Garcia went 1-3 with a double. Jason Coats and Dayan Viciedo each had solo shots.
Jacksonville 10, Birmingham 6
Frankie Montas was roughed up in only 2.1 innings of work – Montas allowed seven earned runs on six hits and five walks, though he did strike out five. Tyler Barnette gave up three runs in 2.1 innings of relief. Kyle Hansen and Zach Isler pitched a combined scoreless three innings.
Tim Anderson score two runs despite going hitless – he reached base once by walking. Jacob May went 2-5 with an RBI while Nick Delmonico went 1-4 with his third home run of the season, chipping in two RBIs in the losing effort.
Delmarva 12, Kannapolis 7
Jose Brito had the start for the Intimidators and gave up three runs in 3.1 innings of work before handing it over to Zack Erwin, who dazzled with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief that saw him strikeout three. Connor Walsh then gave up two runs and took the loss.
Michael Suiter had a nice night on offense going 2-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Toby Thomas went 1-4 with a two RBI triple.
Billings 3, Great Falls 2
Evin Einhardt got the start for the Voyagers and gave up three runs in five innings – though he did strike out four. Dylan Barrow and Alex Katz pitched a combined four innings of one hit ball.
On offense Frank Califano went 2-3 in the leadoff spot. Frank Califano and Antonio Rodriguez each went 1-4 with an RBI.
AZL White Sox 3, AZL Indians 1
Brandon Quintero gave the AZL White Sox a great start, going five innings of one run ball while walking none and striking out five. Jordan Stephens pitched two innings of perfect relief where he struck out three and Richard McWilliams got the save.
Jake Fincher went 3-5 with a double and run scored, Daniel Mendick went 1-5 with an RBI and run scored and Bradley Strong went 2-3 with a walk and run scored. Corey Zangari and Tyler Sullivan each went 2-4, Zangari had a double while Sullivan had an RBI. Jhoandro Alfaro went 1-3 with a walk and RBI.
Winston-Salem vs. Myrtle Beach was canceled due to rain.
