White Sox Minor League Recap 4/23/2016: Fulmer Dazzles, Knights Get No-Hit

Toledo 5, Charlotte 0
Chris Volstad got the start for the Knights, going five innings while giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits with two strikeouts. The bullpen was stellar, as Michael Ynoa pitched two scoreless innings, giving up no hits while striking out one. Brad Goldberg followed Ynoa, pitching a scoreless inning while giving up just one hit. Offensively, the Knights did not get any hits, as the Mudhens used four different pitchers to complete a no-hitter.
The Knights return to action this afternoon, where they will square off with the Mudhens in game two of a three game series.
Birmingham 6, Chattanooga 0
Carson Fulmer delivered his best start of the 2016 season, as he threw six scoreless innings, giving up just four hits along with six strikeouts. Fulmer also had zero walks on the night, which was great to see as he has had some control issues early in the season. Brian Clark and Peter Tago were excellent in relief, as they combined to pitch four scoreless innings. At the plate, Nick Delmonico had a solid night, going 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Omar Narvaez went 2 for 4 with two doubles, a RBI, and a run scored, and Jake Peter also went 2 for 4 while scoring a run.
Jordan Guerrero will be on the mound for the Barons to start in game three of a five game set with the Lookouts this afternoon.
Winston-Salem 9, Salem 6
Matt Cooper put together a nice start for the Dash, lasting six innings while giving up two runs on six hits with nine strikeouts. The bats stayed hot, as the Dash had 15 hits on the night. Hunter Jones and Nick Basto each went 2 for 4 with a walk and a RBI, while Toby Thomas and Brett Austin each had a hit and two RBIs. In addition, Marcus Davis, Louie Lechich, and Michael Danner each had two hits.
The Dash go for the sweep over the Red Sox this afternoon, as Thaddius Lowry will make the start.
Delmarva 4, Kannapolis 2
Lefty Ryan Riga made the start for the Intimidators, as he went five innings, giving up two runs on four hits with three punch outs. Taylore Cherry was very solid out of the bullpen, firing two scoreless innings in relief while giving up one hit and striking out three. Offensively, Landon Lassiter went 2 for 4 with a double, walk, RBI and run scored. Seby Zavala reached base four times on night, going 2 for 3 with two walks and a RBI.
Zach Thompson makes the start the evening, as the Intimidators look to even up the series with the Shorebirds in the final game of a four game set.
