White Sox Minor League Recap 6/11/2016: Knights sweep doubleheader, Ranaudo brilliant, Bourgeois stays en fuego

Charlotte had a great night, sweeping a double header over the Buffalo Bison, while the rest of the farm went winless. Anthony Ranaudo threw a complete game (7 innings) and only gave up one run, while Jason Bourgeois had four hits in the first game of the doubleheader and five on the day. Brett Austin and Johan Cruz showed off some power as well, homering in their respective games.
Charlotte 9, Buffalo 1 (Game 1 / 7 innings)
Anthony Ranaudo went all seven innings for the Knights while earning his second win of the season, giving up one run on four hits with four strikeouts. At the plate, Jason Bourgeois led the way going 4 for 4 with a double and three RBI, and raised his average to an incredible .443 over 79 at-bats with the Knights. Danny Hayes, Andy Parrino, and Omar Narvaez were also major contributors, as each had a pair of hits and a RBI in game one of the doubleheader.
Charlotte 5, Buffalo 1 (Game 2 / 7 innings)
Will Lamb made the start and went three innings, giving up one run on one hit. Blake Smith earned his third win of the season in relief after throwing three scoreless innings and punching out three. Brad Goldberg came in and shut the door with a scoreless seventh inning while striking out two. Offensively, Matt Davidson had three hits including a double and two runs scored. Nick Delmonico hit his second home run of the season since being called up, a two run shot, and Danny Hayes also had a double and a run scored.
The Knights go for the sweep against the Bisons this afternoon, and a starter has yet to be announced.
Biloxi 4, Birmingham 2
Jordan Guerrero made the start and went six innings, giving up three runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Blair Walters did a nice job out the pen, as he threw a scoreless eighth inning and struck out one. The Barons out hit the Shuckers nine to five on the night, but it did not show in the run column. Jake Peter, Eudy Pina, and Eddy Alvarez all had a pair of hits, and Alvarez and Courtney Hawkins each had one RBI.
The Barons return to action tonight with the Shuckers, and no starter has been announced.
Carolina 7, Winston-Salem 4
Spencer Adams had a rough start, giving up seven runs on ten hits over 5.2 innings of work. The bullpen was solid, as Manny Martinez and Jacob Morris combined for 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. Offensively, Nick Basto had three hits and a RBI, while Marcus Davis had a pair of hits and one RBI. Brett Austin also chipped in, hitting his fifth home run of the season, a two run blast in the top of the fifth.
The Dash and Mudcats meet up this afternoon and starter has yet to be announced.
Hickory 7, Kannapolis 5
Brannon Easterling went four innings in his second start of the season, giving up one run on three hits. The bullpen had a night they wanted to forget, as three pitchers combined to give up six runs (four earned) over five innings. Yelmison Peralta suffered the loss, giving up two unearned runs in 1.1 innings of work. Grant Massey had a nice night at the plate, as he had three hits and two runs scored. Johan Cruz had a big night, as he hit a triple and his third home run of the season, a two run shot in the bottom of the fifth. Danny Mendick and Cody Daily also had a hit and a RBI on the night as well.
Luis Martinez takes the ball tonight as the Intimidators and Crawdads clash again.
