Carson Fulmer was terrific once again, as he pitched seven scoreless innings for the Barons Friday night. Fulmer now has pitched fourteen consecutive scoreless innings, while surrendering just five hits. Winston-Salem was the only team to win on the farm last night, as five players went deep in the win.
Lehigh Valley 3, Charlotte 2
Kameron Loe made his Knights debut after serving an 80 game suspension,hurling 4.2 innings and giving up two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Juan Minaya suffered the loss in relief, as he gave up a run on one hit with a pair of strikeouts over 1.2 innings. Blake Smith did a nice job out of the pen, as he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and struck out two.
At the plate, Jake Peter had two doubles and a run scored, while Vinny Rottino had a pair of singles and a RBI. Leury Garcia hit a triple and scored a run, while Jason Bourgeois drove in one. Jacob May also contributed out of the lead-off spot, as he hit a single and swiped his eighth base of the year.
Anthony Ranaudo makes the start tonight against the Iron Pigs in game three of a four game set.
Biloxi 3, Birmingham 1 (13 innings)
Carson Fulmer turned in another brilliant start, as the top prospect fired seven scoreless innings on three hits with five strikeouts. He has now thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings, while only surrendering five hits in that frame. The Barons led one to zero heading into the top of the ninth, but the Shuckers were able to tie it. Nolan Sanburn threw four innings in relief, giving up one run on three hits with a pair of strikeouts. Kyle Hansen suffered the loss, giving up two runs on three hits with one strikeout.
The Barons bats went cold in this contest, as they only had three hits on the night. Adam Engel led the way from the lead-off spot, as he had two hits, including a triple and one run scored. He also stole his 24th base of the season. Eddy Alvarez drove in the team’s lone RBI on a groundout in the bottom of the first, and Jeremy Dowdy hit a single as well.

Winston-Salem 18, Wilmington 5
Tanner Banks got the start for the Dash, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings. The bullpen did a nice job, as Colin Kleven gave up one run over three innings of work, and was followed by Ryan Riga, who pitched a hitless ninth and struck out one.
The Dash had an impressive nineteen hits on the night, as every hitter in the lineup had at least one hit and eight of nine starters had at least one RBI. The long ball was the main force behind the Dash offense, as they had five home runs on the night. Hunter Jones, Gerson Montilla, Nick Basto, Marcus Davis, and Telvin Nash all went deep, and combined for ten runs batted in. Toby Thomas had four hits and three runs scored, while Chris O’Dowd had a pair of base knocks and two RBIs. Mason Robbins also was a key contributor, as he had one hit and three RBIs.
Thaddius Lowry takes the ball tonight against the Blue Rocks in game three of four.
Hickory 4, Kannapolis 3
Zachary Thompson started and suffered the loss, as he lasted three innings while giving up four runs (two earned) on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. The bullpen was excellent, as Drew Hasler and Taylore Cherry both pitched two scoreless innings, and Tanner Mendonca followed with a scoreless inning himself.
Offensively, Seby Zavala and Antonio Rodriguez both had a hit and a RBI, while Tyler Sullivan and Cody Daily both had a pair of hits. Johan Cruz also played a role offensively, as he had one hit and two runs scored.
The Intimidators and Crawdads square off again tonight and Brannon Easterling will start.
Billings 10, Great Falls 9 (10 innings)
Fernando Gallegos made the start for the Voyagers, lasting four innings and giving up four runs on seven hits. The bullpen struggled on the night, outside of Ben Wright, who pitched 1.2 hitless innings and struck out one. The Voyagers were able to score three to take a nine to six lead in the top of the tenth, but gave up four runs in the bottom half and suffered the loss. Richard McWilliams suffered the loss, giving up a run on two hits without getting an out.
Offensively, Jameson Fisher led the way with three hits and three runs scored, including a two run home run, his third of the season. Nate Nolan and Steve Pollakov also went deep for the Voyagers, and Jake Jarvis had three hits and two runs scored. Mitch Roman also was an offensive force, as he had four hits and two runs scored. Brady Conlan also extended his hit streak to fourteen games, as he had one hit in the contest.
The Voyagers and Mustangs square off tonight before an off day tomorrow.
