Charlotte 5, Scranton/WB 1
Tyler Danish pitched a gem when he needed it the most and led the Knights to a win over a very strong Scranton-WB team. Danish entered the game with an ERA over 12.00, but only allowed one run on four hits and no walks over five innings. Chris Beck and Matt Purke came on in relief on Danish and each threw two scoreless innings to close the game.
Adam Engel continues to rake as he went 2-4 in his Charlotte debut and is now hitting an absurd .457 over his last ten contests. Engel has had a roller coaster year, and if you would like to hear about it from him, check out his recent interview. Carlos Sanchez homered and drove in three runs and catcher Kevan Smith also went deep in the victory.
Anthony Ranaudo will take the hill as the Knights hope to make it two in a row.
Birmingham 2, Biloxi 0
James Dykstra and Biloxi hurler Brooks Hall were locked in a pitchers duel until the Biloxi bullpen blinked first. The Barons got to work as soon as Hall departed, scoring two runs on a Eddy Alvarez single in the 8th. Reliever Brian Clark took it the rest of the way from there, hurling two perfect innings to earn the save.
James Dykstra had his best outing of the year, striking out eight batters over seven scoreless innings.
Myrtle Beach 15, Winston-Salem 2
The final score really tells you everything you need to know about this game, except that it actually could of been much worse. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans put up 15 runs in the first six innings, but the Leyer brothers, Robin Leyer and Euclides Leyer, each threw two scoreless innings. Starter Tanner Banks was lit up and departed after 1.2 innings and relievers Ryan Riga and Kelvis Valerio didn’t fare much better.

Greensboro 7, Kannapolis 3
Starter Johnathan Frebis was cruising until everything went wrong in a six run sixth innings as the Greensboro Grasshoppers took the game. Relievers Ben Wright and Dylan Barrow had scoreless appearances to keep the game close.
Outfielder Alex Call just keeps hitting, going 2-5 with two doubles in only his second game with the Intimidators. The 3rd round draft pick is now hitting .313/.444/.452 in his first professional season.
Brannon Easterling will get the start Tuesday.
Great Falls 4, Grand Junction 3
2016 7th round pick Bernardo Flores struck out seven batters over just five innings and got the win against Grand Junction on Monday night. The strikeout parade continued as reliever Brandon Magallones struck out four batters over two perfect innings. Then, for good measure, Fernando Gallegos struck out another three over two more perfect innings to earn the save.
Outfielders Jackson Glines and Aaron Schnurbusch combined for nearly all of the Voyagers offensive output. Glines went 2-3 with two doubles, a walk, and a stolen base. Schnurbusch went 2-3 with a walk and two stolen bases.
Chris Comito is expected to take the mound in the continuation of the series on Tuesday.
AZL White Sox 5, AZL Angels 4
Starter Edinxon Arias didn’t allow an earned run over his five innings, striking out six and only allowing four hits and a walk. Arias’s good work was not rewarded statistically, as a late Angels rally tied in the game in the 8th. However, Zach Remillard doubled to begin the bottom of the 9th, stole third, and came home on a error to send the White Sox home winners.
Reliever Sean Renzi earned the win by throwing two scoreless innings and striking out three.
DSL Orioles 5, DSL White Sox 3
Yojensy Arias pitched five innings of one-run ball to lower his ERA to 1.73 and Jhoandro Alfaro went 2-4 to raise his season slash line to .304/.448/.413.
