Three teams were victorious on the farm last night, as Winston-Salem, Kannapolis, and the DSL White Sox all came away on top. Tanner Banks was brilliant in his start, firing seven scoreless frames. Tyler Danish was terrific in his start, firing six innings of one run ball while surrendering just one run on three hits with four strikeouts. Over his last three starts (18 IP), he has allowed just three earned runs with fourteen strikeouts. The bullpen did their job as well, as Chris Beck threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts and was than followed by Brad Goldberg who threw a scoreless ninth.
Offensively, the Knights wasted a solid pitching performance by Danish and the pen and were shut out. Jason Bourgeois led the way with a  pair of hits, including a double, and Kevan Smith and Daniel Muno both doubled on the night as well.
The Knights and Clippers return to action this afternoon with Kameron Loe making the start.
Mississippi 6, Birmingham 1
Tyler Barnette started for the Barons, giving up five runs on five hits with three strikeouts over five innings of work. Zack Burdi was impressive in relief, as he hurled two scoreless innings while giving up just one hit and striking out five. Excluding Burdi’s first outing with the Barons, he now has a 2.31 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 11.2 innings.
The Barons bats struggled mightily on the night, as they were only able to muster two hits and one run. All of the Barons offense came from Joey DeMichele, as he had the team’s only two hits, including a triple, and one run scored.
The Barons and Braves meet again tonight in the final game of a five game set, and James Dykstra will get the start.

All four of their runs came from the bat of Nick Basto, as he had two hits, including his 11th home run of the season, a two run blast in the top of the first. Gerson Montilla also played a pivotal role, as he went 2 for 2 with two walks and two runs scored.
