9/7/16 Recap: Voyagers epic win streak finally snapped at 15

While all the other Sox affiliates seasons are over, the Great Fall Voyagers still have one more regular season game Thursday before beginning their playoff series against the Billings Mustangs on Friday.
Great Falls 1, Missoula 0 (Game 1)
Chris Comito was electric in game one, striking out 13 batters while going the distance for a seven inning shutout. The 20 year-old 2015 draft pick only allowed two hits and one walk in his dominant performance. Comito located his fastball well, especially on the inner half, and used his off-speed stuff effectively to keep hitters off balance, according to his pitching coach Matt Zaleski.
Taken in the 15th round out of high school, Comito pitched well for the Arizona League Sox last season, compiling a 3.32 ERA over his first 57 professional innings. In 2016 the Sox sent Comito to Kannapolis, where he struggled over nine starts before he was reassigned to Great Falls. Since joining the Voyagers, Comito has struck 89 batters and allowed 15 walks and 71 hits over 86.2 innings.
The deciding run was scored mostly thanks to outfielder Joel Booker. Booker singled in the 3rd inning and then stole 2nd and 3rd base. Shortstop Mitch Roman then punched a single and drove in Booker. Roman went 2-3 and has been on fire recently, hitting .471 over his last ten games to increase his season batting line to .331/391/.417.
Missoula 9, Great Falls 3 (Game 2)
Missoula jumped all over Voyagers starter Luis Ledo for seven runs in the first two innings and the Voyagers unbelievable 15 game winning streak was finally snapped. Ledo came into the start with a combined 1.71 ERA over the DSL, AZL and two starts with Great Falls.
Jameson Fisher and Louis Silverio led the way for the offense. Fisher went 2-3 with his first professional triple and Silverio smacked two doubles.
Silverio, a 22 year-old 2014 33rd round pick, has the distinction of playing for every White Sox affiliate this year aside from Birmingham. He started the year with Kannapolis, was promoted to Winston-Salem, and then spent a month in extended spring training. From extended spring training he was then assigned to the Charlotte Knights for more than a month before being demoted all the way from the top of the system to the bottom to the Arizona League Sox. Not to worry though, Silverio has begun climbing the ladder again by being promoted from the AZL Sox to the Great Falls Voyagers on August 30th where he (presumably) will see out the rest of the 2016 campaign.
