FutureSox Announcement, Pt. 1 – Patreon

Former Editor-in-Chief Matt Cassidy has been working in the background on a couple big things for FutureSox as his swan song, so-to-speak.

Many followers and readers have asked how they can support the work we do at FutureSox, and because of Matt and our team’s work, we now have a Patreon set up for our most loyal fans to help the cause. And there are some special bonus features that you, as a Patron of FutureSox, will receive as a Thank You from all of us.
Our Patreon is set up for only one simple tier – Supporter. That tier will auto-charge patrons $2 at time of joining, and $2 every month unless/until you cancel. Two bucks a month – that’s half a coffee at Starbucks.
And for that $2? Here are some of the benefits you will get for signing up as a member (just to start):
      i.      Periodic Live Q&A’s where the questions are only from members
ii.      Unedited game notes from our site visits, right after games
iii.      Occasional deep-dive articles not on the regular site
iv.      Scouting Report spreadsheet access (when ready)
     v.      Special “request line” for who we interview and what questions we ask at affiliates and/or on the podcasts (subject to approval/appropriateness)
Here is the link for our Patreon: FutureSox Patreon, which includes deeper information about how it works.
What will these funds allow us to do? Primarily this is about our high quality writing staff. The money will allow FutureSox staff to travel to and cover the affiliates with more regularity, and further will help recruit and retain those talented writers, photographers and videographers (more in-person content!). But it will also help with the other “big thing” that will be coming up soon. We can’t say precisely what it is yet, but it will improve the user experience for our readers, and address some requests you’ve been making recently.
We appreciate each and every one of our readers. Thank you for your support over the last 16 seasons, and for considering supporting us as we grow into the next phase.
