FutureSox MiLB Team of the Week — Aug. 23-29

White Sox No. 11 prospect Bryan Ramos recorded his third multi-homer game of the season, while No. 28 prospect Luis Mieses produced monster figures to earn the highlight spots in the FutureSox MiLB Team of the Week. 

Here’s a look at the full lineup for the period of Aug. 23-29:

Catcher — Adam Hackenberg (Low-A) — 5 G, .450/.500/.650, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R

  • Former Clemson standout Adam Hackenberg continued to swing a hot stick in his introduction to Low-A pitching to earn the first spot in the FutureSox Team of the Week. Hackenberg, whom the White Sox selected in the 18th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, hit safely in each of the final four games of Kannapolis’ series against Lynchburg (CLE), which included a four-hit performance in Friday’s 11-5 win. Hackenberg, who hit six homers in 216 collegiate at-bats, launched his first professional home run Friday, as well. The 21-year-old backstop owns a .998 OPS across 13 games since he joined the White Sox organization.

First baseman — Jameson Fisher (Double-A) — 6 G, .364/.440/.455, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R

  • Double-A first baseman Jameson Fisher put together a strong performance at the plate with a pair of three-hit nights and four RBI in Birmingham’s series split against Montgomery (TBR). Fisher, a former fourth-round selection, has terrorized Double-A pitchers throughout the month of August and holds a .342/.419/.513 slash line in that span (21 games). The 27-year-old has produced a 124 wRC+ this season, which marks his second go-around at Double-A.

Second baseman — Bryan Ramos (Low-A) — 6 G, .333/.385/.667, 2 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R

  • White Sox No. 11 prospect Bryan Ramos snapped out of a horrific 0-for-35 slump in a major way in the back half of Low-A Kannapolis’ series against Lynchburg (CLE). The 19-year-old infielder posted consecutive three-hit efforts Thursday and Friday, and recorded his third multi-homer game of the season in Friday’s 11-5 win, as well. Ramos, whom the White Sox signed out of Cuba in July 2018, ranks seventh in the Low-A East Division home runs (12) and fifth in extra-base hits (33).

Third baseman — Jake Burger (Triple-A) — 6 G, .273/.333/.682, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R

  • White Sox No. 4 prospect Jake Burger continued to show out  in Triple-A and hit three home runs in the first two games of Charlotte’s series against division-leading Durham (TBR). The 25-year-old third baseman recorded the first multi-homer game of his professional career Tuesday with a pair of solo shots. Burger logged a standout .682 slugging percentage throughout the week and hit safely in five of the six games. Burger owns a 138 wRC+ in Triple-A this season.

Shortstop — Colson Montgomery (ROK, ACL) — 4 G, .250/.333/.438, 3 2B, 2 BB, 5 R

  • White Sox top prospect and recent first-round selection Colson Montgomery strung together a solid week with the ACL White Sox to earn the nod at shortstop in the FutureSox Team of the Week. Montgomery, 19, doubled in three consecutive games to begin the week and scored five runs throughout the week. He’s hit safely in six of his past eight contests.

Outfield — Luis Mieses (Hi-A) — 6 G, .348/.444/.826, 3 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 7 R

  • White Sox No. 28 prospect Luis Mieses produced a monster 1.270 OPS in a dominant showcase at the plate over the past week. Mieses, 21, recorded three separate multi-hit performances, and launched three-run blasts in Friday and Sunday’s games. The toolsy, 6-foot-3 outfielder owns a 142 wRC+ since he returned to Hi-A Winston-Salem’s lineup at the start of the month. Mieses holds an impressive .930 OPS in the same stretch.

Outfield — Blake Rutherford (Triple-A) — 6 G, .333/.364/.857, 2 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R

  • Triple-A outfielder Blake Rutherford, now unranked among the FutureSox Top 30 prospects, recorded a dynamite 1.221 OPS across six games to earn the second of three outfield spots in the Team of the Week. Rutherford, 24, hit safely in five of the six games, which included his first-career multi-homer game Thursday night. The former first-round selection holds a .558 slugging percentage throughout the month of August.

Outfield — Jagger Rusconi (Double-A) — 4 G, .429/.467/.500, 2B, 2 RBI, 4 R

  • Jagger Rusconi earned his first entry in the FutureSox Team of the Week after he hit safely in all four games upon his promotion to Double-A Birmingham. Rusconi, an original fifth-round selection of the Boston Red Sox in 2015, posted consecutive multi-hit efforts in his introduction to the Barons lineup. The White Sox signed the 25-year-old outfielder to a minor-league contract May 10.

Starting pitcher — Kaleb Roper (Hi-A) — W, 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

  • Hi-A right-hander Kaleb Roper surrendered just one hit across six shutout frames to earn his first win of the season in Winston-Salem’s 6-2 victory against Hudson Valley (NYY) on Friday. Roper, who spent the entirety of the 2019 campaign at Rookie-level Great Falls, struck out six and walked just one batter in the dominant showing. The 25-year-old right-hander and former 29th-round selection out of Tulane owns a 10.98 K/9 rate across five starts in August.

Relief pitcher — Luis Ledo (Double-A) — SV, 2 GF, 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

  • Dominican right-hander Luis Ledo collected his third save of the season and struck out five in three scoreless innings of work to earn the Reliever of the Week honor. Ledo, 26, finished a pair of games for Double-A Birmingham and allowed just one hit in his two appearances. The 6-foot-4 righty owns a 10.66 K/9 rate this season, which marks his first at the Double-A level.
