This series will recap the performances of each White Sox minor league affiliate throughout the week. Here is the ninth installment of the 2022 season.
Charlotte Knights (19-35)
Weekly Record: 2-4
The good news: The Knights blew out the visiting Redbirds twice this week. The bad news: Charlotte lost the other four games, and ultimately, the series. Charlotte is in ninth place and 16 games back in the International League East Division.
Charlotte’s offense was able to find more success against Redbirds pitching than they found in the previous week. Charlotte’s lineup slashed .261/.344/.422 for a .766 OPS. They also scored 37 runs, had 55 hits in 211 at bats, 10 doubles, no triples, eight home runs, 24 walks to 52 strikeouts, and went 8-for-10 on stolen bases. Charlotte pitching couldn’t put this Redbird series behind them fast enough. The Knights got wrecked to a team ERA of 7.36, a 1.75 WHIP, .298 Batting Average Against, 45 earned runs to 46 runs allowed, 65 hits to 55 innings pitched, 31 walks to 41 strikeouts, hitting seven batters and allowing a whopping 17 home runs. Adam Haseley: Adam Haseley was outstanding yet again. The 26 year-old slashed .346/.393/.654 for a 1.047 OPS, scoring seven runs while also bringing home 11 RBI, had two doubles and home runs, went 3-for-3 on stolen bases, and had nine hits across 26 at-bats.

Birmingham Barons (19-32)
Weekly Record: 2-4
Birmingham stayed in Tennessee, taking on the Smokies to wrap up their road trip. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Barons, as they dropped four of six to their divisional foe. The Barons are in last place and are 11 games back in the Southern League North Division.
The Barons bats have really enjoyed their time in Tennessee. Birmingham slashed .281/.367/.461 for an .828 OPS. They also scored 34 runs, had 61 hits in 217 at-bats, 13 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 28 walks to 46 strikeouts, and went 11-for-17 on stolen bases. Barons pitching had a little tougher of a time against the Smokies lineup. Birmingham wrapped the series with a 5.06 team ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, .272 Batting Average Against, 30 earned runs to 33 runs allowed, 55 hits to 53.1 innings pitched, 30 walks to 41 strikeouts, and hit one batter while allowing 11 home runs. Yoelqui Cespedes: Yoelqui Cespedes enjoyed what he saw all week long from Smokies pitchers. The 24 year-old outfielder slashed .381/.391/.857 for a 1.248 OPS, scoring five runs, seven RBI, four doubles, two home runs, and had eight hits across 21 at-bats.

Winston-Salem Dash (26-25)
Weekly Record: 5-1
The Greenville Drive were on the docket for the Dash last week. Seeking good fortune, the Dash found it as they took five of six against their divisional counterparts. The Dash are in fourth place and are five and a half games back in the South Atlantic League South Division.
The Dash offense rebounded after a pretty terrible week prior. Winston-Salem hit Drive pitching to a .275/.345/.471 slash line for an .817 OPS. The Dash also scored 32 runs, had 52 hits in 189 at bats, 12 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 21 walks to 48 strikeouts, and went 3-for-4 on stolen bases. Dash pitching also had a much needed respite from rough outcomes against the Greenville lineup. Winston-Salem wrapped the series with team ERA of 3.91, a 1.17 WHIP, and a .222 Batting Average Against. The Dash also allowed 24 runs (23 earned) on 44 hits over 53 innings, 18 walks to 47 strikeouts, hitting four batters and allowing four home runs. Alsander Womack: In a week that saw a lot of solid performances, Alsander Womack stood tallest. The 23 year-old slashed .400/.471/.933 for a 1.404 OPS, scoring three runs, six RBI, two doubles, two home runs, and had six hits across 15 at-bats.

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (20-31)
Weekly Record: 2-4
Tough times continued for the Cannon Ballers last week. The Augusta GreenJackets treated their guests rather rudely, taking four of six games from the scuffling Ballers. Kannapolis is in fifth place and 16 games back in the Carolina League South Division.
Another week, another round of sub-par performance for the Kannapolis lineup. The Ballers, slashed .196/.323/.312 for a .635 OPS. Additionally, they scored 24 runs, 37 hits in 189 at-bats, seven doubles, no triples, five home runs, 32 walks to 73 strikeouts, and went 9-for-10 on stolen bases. Kannapolis had a much better time against the GreenJackets lineup, but the numbers were still pedestrian at best. The Cannon Ballers finished the series with a team ERA of 4.68, a 1.56 WHIP, and a .241 Batting Average Against. They allowed 35 runs (26 earned) on 46 hits over 50 innings, issuing 32 walks against 48 strikeouts, while hitting two batters and allowed five home runs. Wes Kath: Wes Kath had a fantastic week at the plate for the Ballers. The 19 year-old third baseman hit .389/.542/.778 for a 1.320 OPS, scored five runs, hit one double, two home runs, had two RBI, and seven hits across 18 at bats.
