This series will recap the performances of each White Sox minor league affiliate throughout the previous week. Here is the 25th installment of the 2022 season.
Charlotte Knights (58-89)
Weekly Record: 3-3
As the lone affiliate still in play, Oscar Colás (along with Sean Burke and Edgar Navarro) received a promotion and made his Charlotte debut as the team headed into its final nine games of the season. The penultimate series of the season saw the Knights complete one last road trip against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. The series was generally pretty close, with four of the six games being decided by two runs or less and the Knights prevailing in the win column thrice. Charlotte’s stranglehold on last place remains and they are 25 games back in the International League East Division.
The Knights offense picked it up a little bit from last week, but still yielded pretty similar results. Charlotte concluded the series with a .274/.336/.433 slash line for a .769 OPS. The Knights also scored 31 runs, had 59 hits in 215 at-bats, 10 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 18 walks to 50 strikeouts, and went 7-for-11 on stolen bases. Complete season totals for the Knights offense can be found here.
Colás debuted in his third affiliated uniform as a member of the Chicago White Sox in 2022, as he managed seven hits in 22 at-bats for the Knights last week. Through five games, the freshly-turned 24-year-old is slashing .318/.375/.636 with two home runs.
Charlotte’s pitching staff stunk less than they did the previous week, but they were still quite bad against the Jumbo Shrimp. The Knights pitching staff ended the series with a team ERA of 6.23, a 1.56 WHIP, and a .288 Batting Average Against. They also allowed 41 runs (36 earned), 60 hits to 52 innings pitched, 21 walks to 39 strikeouts, hit six batters and allowed five home runs. Complete season totals for the Knights pitching staff can be found here.
🔥 Hot Player of the Week 🔥
Adam Haseley: Adam Haseley had quite the offensive outburst against the Jumbo Shrimp pitching staff last week. The 26 year-old outfielder slashed .435/.500/.826 for a 1.326 OPS, hit two doubles, two triples, one home run, three RBI, scored five runs, and had 10 hits in 23 at-bats.
I think I’m the president of the Adam Haseley fan club on this site, so….
WOOOOOHHOOOOOO!!!!
Ahhh Colas is only 24… I get it now. Way too young to be on the big club. Probably needs a few more years of seasoning before getting his shot. I mean his OPS is barely over 1000.
Needs to work on his defense.
He’s officially a two way player, so he needs to work on his changeup too.
