I don’t really understand the argument that Grifol “came into a tough situation.” Before the season started, did you think the team would win more than it has? Is the “tough situation” the front office, who you seem to think are good at drafting and acquiring talent? Is the tough situation working for an organization that doesn’t go out and get top talent on the free agent market, and if so why would 2026 be different? Do you need to see how Pedro Grifol does with a team that is in a full on rebuild to really judge him, and if so doesn’t that really mean he was the wrong guy for the job in 2023? Is there anything specifically that he has done well that gives you cause for optimism?
To be clear, my own opinion is that he is a bumbling idiot.
