Trending on the Farm: Garrett Crochet shines in rehab outings

Jake Eder

Since being acquired for Jake Burger at the trade deadline, Jake Eder’s tenure in the White Sox organization has been a bit rocky. He’s been sent to their pitching lab in Arizona before participating in the Arizona Fall League, which kicks off on October 2.

Colson Montgomery & Bryan Ramos

While Colson Montgomery has endured a couple rough weeks hitting the baseball, he’s still been able to get on base at a nice clip as Birmingham’s season wraps up this week. Montgomery will also be participating in the Arizona Fall League in October.

Bryan Ramos was another prominent member of the Barons that struggled at the plate against tough Biloxi pitching last week. Ramos will look to end the Barons regular season on a high note before participating in the AFL in October.

Edgar Quero & José Rodríguez

Offensively, it was a tough week for the Barons but Edgar Quero walked more (four) than he struck out (three) while also connecting for three hits in four games.

José Rodríguez had a rough go in his first full week as a member of the Knights against a stellar Durham Bulls club. He was also caught stealing (twice) for the first time since August 2.

Jacob Gonzalez & Peyton Pallette

Jacob Gonzalez doubled the amount of walks he took (eight) to strikeouts (four) in the last week of the Cannon Ballers season.

Peyton Pallette first full professional season is in the books, having pitched 72 innings with a 4.13 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 78 strikeouts across 22 starts as a member of the Cannon Ballers.

Nick Nastrini & Cristian Mena

Nick Nastrini and Cristian Mena experienced the Truist Field effect last week. These were starts that both right handers will look to put out of their memories ASAP.

AAA (Charlotte)

Nate Mondou

Nate Mondou had a great week for the Knights, knocking two home runs and five RBI with a 1.224 OPS in five games.

Erik González

Erik González had two extra base hits (double, home run) with a .977 OPS across five games.

AA (Birmingham)

Moisés Castillo

Moisés Castillo knocked three of his five hits for two bases and held an 1.182 OPS in three games for the Barons.

Tristan Stivors

Tristan Stivors made two appearances last week pitching a total of two and one third scoreless innings and nearly put up zeroes across the board outside of allowing one hit.

Garrett Crochet

A rehabbing Garrett Crochet was filthy in both of his appearances for the Barons last week, throwing two scoreless innings, allowing nothing across the board and struck out five.

A+ (Winston-Salem)

Michael Turner

Michael Turner continued to do what he does, collect hits and get on base as he produced a .556/.636/.667 line for a 1.303 OPS with a double in three games for the Dash. In his first full season, Turner hit .309/.430/.441 for an .871 OPS with four home runs, 41 RBI, and walked 67 times to just 58 strikeouts in 304 at-bats.

Jacob Burke

22 year old outfielder Jacob Burke ended his season on a strong note for the Dash, slashing .364/.462/.545 for a 1.007 OPS with two doubles and four hits in three games. Between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem, Burke slashed .294/.392/.439 for an .831 OPS with six home runs, 40 RBI, and went 19/26 on stolen bases for the season. Burke is also expected to participate in the AFL.

Brooks Baldwin

23 year old Brooks Baldwin ended his first full professional season on a high note, slashing .389/.429/.611 for a 1.040 OPS. Baldwin had two extra base hits (double, home run) and also drove in five. Between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem, Baldwin hit .269/.349/.460 for an .809 OPS with 15 home runs, 58 RBI, and went 22/27 on stolen bases.

Tyler Schweitzer

Southpaw Tyler Schweitzer had a solid final start for the Dash in Hickory. In four innings of work, the soon to be 23 year old allowed one hit, one run (earned), two walks, while striking out five. Between Kannapolis and the Dash, Schweitzer appeared in 23 games (22 starts) throwing 107 ⅓ innings with a 3.94 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 121 strikeouts.

Everhett Hazelwood

24 year old Everhett Hazelwood threw the ball well in his lone appearance of the week. Hazelwood threw one and two thirds scoreless innings allowing nothing across the board and struck out three.

A (Kannapolis)

Eddie Park & Ryan McCarthy

22 year old outfielder Eddie Park ended his season on a high note, producing a .909 OPS with two extra base hits (double, triple) and a stolen base in six games.

24 year old outfielder Ryan McCarthy also performed well against Lynchburg, posting a 1.400 OPS with three extra base hits (two doubles, home run) in three games.

Ryan Galanie & Edrick Felix

23 year old infielder Ryan Galanie was another Baller to have a strong week at the plate, producing a .967 OPS with four extra base hits (three doubles, triple) in six games.

21 year old infielder Edrick Felix slashed .278/.278/.611 for an .889 OPS with three of his five hits going for extra bases (double, triple, home run) in four games.

Jhoneiker Betancourt

23 year old first baseman Jhoneiker Betancourt supplied the power for the Ballers last week. Betancourt slashed .263/.320/.737 for a 1.057 OPS with three home runs and nine RBI in six games.

Tanner McDougal

20 year old right hander Tanner McDougal had a strong final start of the season for the Ballers. McDougal pitched four shutout innings, allowing nothing across the board and struck out four. In his first full professional season post Tommy John surgery, McDougal threw 69 ⅓ innings across 21 starts with a 4.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 80 strikeouts.

Seth Keener

2023 third round pick Seth Keener pitched well in his lone appearance last week. In three scoreless innings of work, the 21 year old righty allowed just one hit while striking out two.

Connor Pellerin

24 year old right hander Connor Pellerin had a strong appearance out of the bullpen for Kannapolis. Pellerin pitched two and two thirds scoreless innings, allowing one walk and struck out four.
