Trending on the Farm: Brooks Baldwin Keeps Hitting

Colson Montgomery

After taking a seat in a couple games in the previous week, Colson Montgomery returned to action against Lehigh Valley. Colson did draw six walks last week (four in a single game) while also knocking three extra base hits while playing in all six games.

Noah Schultz

Noah Schultz was highly efficient in his outing, throwing 39 of his 50 pitches (78%) for strikes, with the only blemishes coming on a wall-scraping home run and a double that eventually came around to score.

Jake Eder

Jake Eder put together another strong start for the Barons, significantly limiting free passes and base runners allowed.

Bryan Ramos

Bryan Ramos started to get things back on track against Chattanooga, knocking three extra base hits and hitting the ball with authority once again.

Jacob Gonzalez

While Jacob Gonzalez’s on base streak ended last week, he did manage to reach base safely in five of six games.

Edgar Quero

After a scorching two weeks Edgar Quero cooled against the Lookouts, managing just one extra base hit and seven strikeouts across five games.

Peyton Pallette & Nick Nastrini

Peyton Pallette had tough beginning to his outing, allowing three runs, three hits, and three walks in the first two innings of work. Pallette did settle down, but did allow singles to reach in each of his next two innings.

Nick Nastrini returned to the Charlotte rotation and had a rough outing at the hands of the IronPigs lineup.

Lenyn Sosa

Lenyn Sosa was feasting on Lehigh Valley pitchers last week, producing a 1.381 OPS with six extra base hits (three doubles, three home runs) and eight RBI in four games.

Wilfred Veras – MLB Pipeline White Sox #26

21 year old outfielder Wilfred Veras had a great showing in Chattanooga last week, amassing a 1.160 OPS across five games with three extra base hits (two doubles, home run). For the young season, Veras has a .941 OPS in 18 games and an .898 OPS with a 145 wRC+ in 56 total games between 2023 and 2024 in AA.

Brooks Baldwin – MLB Pipeline White Sox #25

Brooks Baldwin just keeps hitting. In five games last week, the 23 year old had a 1.125 OPS with five doubles.

Drew Thorpe – MLB Pipeline White Sox #3

Drew Thorpe seems to be having no issue in handling the Southern League. While this particular outing didn’t feature gaudy strikeout numbers, he was once again highly efficient and effective in his six innings of work.

Ky Bush – MLB Pipeline White Sox #18

Ky Bush had a two start week for the Barons and allowed zeroes in the run column in each outing. Cumulatively, he threw 11 innings allowing six hits (four in start one, two in start two), seven walks (four in start one, three in start two), and struck out seven batters in each outing. The 24 year old is now sporting a 1.27 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 21.1 innings through his first four starts.

Jason Matthews

Jason Matthews had another strong week for the Barons, producing a .944 OPS with a double and a triple in four games.

Andrew Dalquist & Gil Luna

23 year old right hander Andrew Dalquist had two relief appearances and threw three innings, allowed one hit, two walks, and struck out five. 24 year old southpaw Gil Luna was perfect in both of his outings, allowing no baserunners, struck out five, and picked up both a win and a save.

Wes Kath

21 year old Wes Kath had another good week at the plate for the Dash against Rome. In five games, Kath had a .944 OPS with two doubles and just two strikeouts in 16 at-bats.

Eric Adler

23 year old Eric Adler was fantastic out of the bullpen for the Dash against the Emporers. Adler appeared in three games throwing four scoreless innings, allowed just one hit, one walk, seven strikeouts, two saves and a win.

Riley Gowens

24 year old and local product Riley Gowens was fantastic once again, this time spinning five innings of one run baseball.

Zach Franklin

25 year old Zach Franklin pitched extremely well in his lone appearance of the week, allowing just one hit.

Caden Connor

23 year old outfielder Caden Connor paced the Cannon Baller offense last week with a 1.125 OPS and three extra base hits (two doubles, home run) in six games.

Albertson Asigen

22 year old outfielder Albertson Asigen had another strong week at the plate for Kannapolis, producing an even 1.000 OPS and also went 3-for-4 on stolen bases.

Ryan Galanie

23 year old Ryan Galanie put together a great week against Charleston, knocking four extra base hits (two doubles, two triples) en route to a 1.089 OPS.

Luis Pineda

22 year old catcher Luis Pineda managed to knock three of his seven hits for doubles and put up a 1.032 OPS in four games against the RiverDogs.

Seth Keener – MLB Pipeline White Sox #15

The RiverDogs couldn’t touch 22 year old Seth Keener during his latest start with Kannapolis, only managing to reach base on free passes.

Jake Peppers

22 year old Jake Peppers was another memeber of the Ballers starting unit to twril a great outing against Charleston last week.

Aldrin Batista

20 year old Aldrin Batista had gotten off to a fast start for Kannapolis on the mound. Since joining the Kannapolis rotation in August of 2023, Batista has thrown 39 innings, struck out 40, has an ERA of 2.08, a WHIP of 1.00, and a .201 BAA.

Drew McDaniel

23 year old Drew McDaniel got the Cannon Ballers staff off on the right foot last week with his outing. McDaniel is sporting a 1.72 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP so far in 15.2 innings.
