The Trending on the Farm series will highlight player trends from the top prospects in the White Sox system as well as any other notable performances across all affiliates.
Top of the Crop (Trending on the Farm)
NOTE: This piece will focus on players that are trending on the farm currently in the minor leagues. Jonathan Cannon and Dominic Fletcher are omitted since they‘re with the White Sox (Fletcher has also exceeded rookie status). The “Top of the Crop” portion was determined prior to the Dylan Cease trade, hence why Drew Thorpe, Samuel Zavala, and Jairo Iriarte are all omitted.

Noah Schultz – MLB Pipeline White Sox #2
Noah Schultz may have been a tad less efficient in regards to strike percentage last week from what we’re accustomed to seeing, but the 20-year-old was able to battle and keep the Smokies in check for the majority of his outing.
George Wolkow – MLB Pipeline White Sox #14
After some initial struggles in what’s an advanced assignment, 18-year-old George Wolkow has been heating up at the plate the last couple weeks. Wolkow significantly cut his strikeouts down last week, nearly walking (five) as many times as he struck out (six). Over the last two weeks, Wolkow has a .970 OPS in 13 games.
Colson Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #1
After a strong showing in the previous week, Colson Montgomery had a tough week at the plate against the Norfolk Tides.
Jacob Gonzalez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7
Jacob Gonzalez hit a speed bump in June, batting .216/.292/.289 (.581 OPS) in 97 at-bats.
Edgar Quero – MLB Pipeline White Sox #4
Last week was a struggle at the plate for Edgar Quero against Tennessee, but he’ll look to get back on track against his former mates in Rocket City.
Nick Nastrini – MLB Pipeline White Sox #8
A defensive miscue in the second inning opened the floodgates against Nick Nastrini, as his outing came to a close not long after. Nastrini left the game allowing three runs and had three men on, all of which came in to score after he left the game.
Jake Eder – MLB Pipeline White Sox #10 & Peyton Pallette – MLB Pipeline White Sox #12
A strong May led to a tough month of June for Jake Eder, as the southpaw had a 7.64 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP in 17.2 innings pitched. Eder only issued six walks while striking out 25, but did allow six home runs in June.
Peyton Pallette’s nightmarish June is mercifully over. An 11.37 ERA, 2.37 WHIP in 12.2 innings of work after a solid month of May is surely something the righty will look to move past as soon as possible.
Bryan Ramos – MLB Pipeline White Sox #5
Bryan Ramos returned to the lineup and while his weekly line wasn’t ideal, him returning to action healthy was the most important aspect after only playing in two games in the previous week. Of note, Sunday’s game was suspended so he and the rest of his Charlotte teammates will have to wait a while before the stats from that game get officially added to the docket.
