The Trending on the Farm series will highlight player trends from the top prospects in the White Sox system as well as any other notable performances across all affiliates.

NOTE: This piece will focus on players that are trending on the farm currently in the minor leagues. Jonathan Cannon and Dominic Fletcher are omitted since they‘re with the White Sox (Fletcher has also exceeded rookie status). The “Top of the Crop” portion was determined prior to the Dylan Cease trade, hence why Drew Thorpe, Samuel Zavala, and Jairo Iriarte are all omitted.

George Wolkow – MLB Pipeline White Sox #14

George Wolkow has been on quite the heater lately, and things really escalated and got out of hand against Fayetteville last week. Of Wolkow’s 10 total hits, six went for extra bases as he continues to adapt and punish baseballs against Carolina League pitchers.

Noah Schultz – MLB Pipeline White Sox #2

Noah Schultz endured the toughest AA outing he’s had all season, but battled and got in his four innings. The seven hits and two home runs allowed are season high marks between both Winston-Salem and Birmingham, but Schultz was able to limit the damage outside of that.

Edgar Quero – MLB Pipeline White Sox #4

Edgar Quero was promoted mid-week from Birmingham to Charlotte, but left his mark at each level. Quero homered in his first AAA game for the Knights and also had three RBI and a double in three AA games for the Barons.

Peyton Pallette – MLB Pipeline White Sox #12

For the first time this season, Peyton Pallette was operating as the piggy-back behind Tommy Vail and delivered a promising outing.

Nick Nastrini – MLB Pipeline White Sox #8

It was a mixed bag outing for 24-year-old Nick Nastrini, but a baby-step in the right direction after a tough look in his previous start.

Colson Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #1

A challenging 2024 season at the plate continued for Colson Montgomery against Jacksonville, as the offensive production has not been able to click for an extended period of time for the 22-year-old.

Jacob Gonzalez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7

Jacob Gonzalez reached safely nine times against Rocket City in otherwise what was a slow offensive series for the 2023 first rounder.

Jake Eder – MLB Pipeline White Sox #10

July didn’t get off to a particularly good start for Jake Eder, as he labored through five innings against Rocket City.

Bryan Ramos – MLB Pipeline White Sox #5

22-year-old Bryan Ramos had a tough series against Jacksonville, appearing in three games. Ramos still seems to be working his way through an injury, as he’s DH’d in all eight games he’s appeared in since he last played in the field June 19th.

Trending on the Farm: AAA (Charlotte)

Brooks Baldwin – MLB Pipeline White Sox #24

Brooks Baldwin accompanied Edgar Quero and Ky Bush in promotions to Charlotte and had four hits and a home run in his first two games with the Knights.

Michael Chavis

28-year-old Michael Chavis had a 1.177 OPS with four extra base hits (two doubles, two home runs) and four RBI in four games last week.

Mark Payton

32-year-old Mark Payton had a 1.039 OPS with five extra base hits (four doubles, home run) across four games against the Jumbo Shrimp last week.

Oscar Colás

25-year-old Oscar Colás hit .357/.438/.571 for a 1.009 OPS with a double, triple, two RBI, and two stolen bases (in three attempts) in four games.

Aaron McGarity

29-year-old right-hander Aaron McGarity made two scoreless appearances, throwing two perfect innings with three strikeouts.

Trending on the Farm: AA (Birmingham)

Michael Turner

After Edgar Quero’s promotion to AAA, Michael Turner saw the bulk of the action behind the plate for the Barons. The 25-year-old was up to the task, batting .353/.421/.529 for a .950 OPS with three doubles and a stolen base in five games.

Mason Adams – MLB Pipeline White Sox #19

24-year-old Mason Adams continues to rip strong performances in the Southern League. In 86.1 innings this season, Adams is now sporting a 2.19 ERA (third among qualified Southern League pitchers), a 1.01 WHIP (second among qualified Southern League pitchers), 88 strikeouts (tied for third among qualified Southern League pitchers), and 15 walks (tied for fourth fewest among qualfied Southern League pitchers).

Riley Gowens

24-year-old Riley Gowens was recently promoted to Birmingham in the wake of Ky Bush heading to Charlotte, and the local product had a fantastic AA debut against the Trash Pandas.

Trending on the Farm: A+ (Winston-Salem)

Wes Kath

21-year-old third baseman Wes Kath had a strong week against Hickory for the Dash. In six games, Kath slashed .400/.429/.750 for an 1.179 OPS with five extra base hits (three doubles and two triples.

Samuel Zavala – MLB Pipeline White Sox #6

19-year-old outfielder Samuel Zavala hit .400/.538/.600 for an 1.138 OPS with two doubles and three RBI in four games against the Crawdads last week. For the season, Zavala is sporting a .357 OBP and from June 1st onwards has a .449 OBP, .826 OPS, and a 146 wRC+ in 27 games.

Shawn Goosenberg

24-year-old outfielder Shawn Goosenberg had a 1.032 OPS with two doubles, a home run, and seven RBI in five games last week.

Tommy Vail

With the flurry of roster moves in levels above him, 25-year-old southpaw Tommy Vail earned a well-deserved promotion to Winston-Salem and continued to build on his strong 2024 season.

Jose Ramirez

23-year-old righty Jose Ramierz made two scoreless appearances last week against Hickory throwing six total innings allowing two hits, one walk, and struck out three.

Trending on the Farm: A (Kannapolis)

Aldrin Batista – MLB Pipeline White Sox #26

21-year-old right-hander Aldrin Batista had another solid outing for Kannapolis against Fayetteville last week. For the season, Batista has a 3.06 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and 71 strikeouts in 64.2 innings pitched (13 starts) for the Cannon Ballers.

Rikuu Nishida

23-year-old infielder and Cannon Baller spark plug Rikuu Nishida hit .400/.438/.500 for a .938 OPS last week. Nishida sent two of his 12 hits for extra bases (double, triple), scored nine runs, had four RBI, and went 6-for-7 on stolen bases. Nishida is now 34-for-40 on stolen bases this year to go along with his .414 OBP in 76 games with 55 walks to 43 strikeouts.

Ronny Hernandez

19-year-old Ronny Hernandez batted .391/.417/.522 for a .939 OPS with three doubles, eight runs scored, and five RBI in five games last week.

Caden Connor

23-year-old Caden Connor had three doubles and a .984 OPS in six games last week for the Cannon Ballers. Connor also scored eight runs, had four RBI, walked more (six) than he struck out (three) and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

Arxy Hernández

20-year-old infielder Arxy Hernández hit .300/.417/.500 with a .917 OPS in five games against the Woodpeckers last week. Hernández also had three extra base hits (two doubles, triple) and four RBI.

Mikey Kane

22-year-old infielder Mikey Kane slashed .292/.419/.500 for a .919 OPS with seven runs scored, two doubles, one home run, three RBI, and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Trending on the Farm: Rookie (ACL)

Leandro Alsinois

19-year-old outfielder Leandro Alsinois hit .333/.412/.800 with a 1.212 OPS, three extra base hits (double, two home runs), and three RBI in five games last week for the ACL White Sox.

Adrian Gil

18-year-old infielder Adrian Gil hit .267/.450/.667 for an 1.117 OPS with a double, triple, home run, and five RBI across five games.

Abraham Nunez

18-year-old outfielder Abraham Nunez slashed .429/.524/.571 for a 1.095 OPS with two doubles, two RBI, and more walks (four) than strikeouts (three) in five games.

Stiven Flores

18-year-old catcher Stiven Flores hit .385/.429/.615 for a 1.044 OPS with a home run and six RBI in four games played.

Carson Jacobs

22-year-old righty Carson Jacobs made three scoreless appearances last week allowing just one hit and struck out four in three total innings.

Nicholas Padilla

27-year-old right-hander Nicholas Padilla is in Arizona on a rehab assignment, but made two scoreless appearances throwing two and two-thirds innings allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out five.

Christian Oppor

19-year-old southpaw Christian Oppor pitched five innings allowing four hits, two runs (both unearned) walked three, and struck out seven in his lone start of the week.

Travis Lakins

30-year-old recent signee Travis Lakins appeared in two games throwing two and one third scoreless innings allowing just one hit while striking out five.

Trending on the Farm: Rookie (DSL)

Jurdrick Profar

17-year-old infielder Jurdrick Profar slashed .308/.438/.462 for a .900 OPS with two doubles, two RBI, and a stolen base in four games played for the DSL White Sox.

Reudis Diaz

18-year-old Reudis Diaz pitched well in his lone start last week, throwing four scoreless innings allowing two hits, one walk, and struck out six.

Yhoiker Fajardo

17-year-old right-hander Yhoiker Fajardo had another strong start for the DSL White Sox. Fajardo pitched five scoreless innings allowing three hits, two walks, and struck out seven. Fajardo was also named by Ben Badler of Baseball America as one of 30 prospects generating buzz in the DSL.

Carlos Bernal

18-year-old righty Carlos Bernal made two scoreless appearances last week, allowing just one hit and struck out four across three total innings of work.
