NOTE: This piece will focus on players that are trending on the farm currently in the minor leagues. Jonathan Cannon is omitted since he’s with the White Sox. The “Top of the Crop” portion was determined prior to the Dylan Cease trade, hence why Drew Thorpe, Samuel Zavala, and Jairo Iriarte are all omitted (Drew Thorpe has since graduated from prospect status).

Noah Schultz – MLB Pipeline White Sox #2

One hit and a couple walks were the only blemishes in now 21-year-old (happy birthday Noah!) Noah Schultz’s start against Montgomery as his exceptional season rolls on.

Bryan Ramos – MLB Pipeline White Sox #4

Bryan Ramos walked four times and sent three of his four hits for extra bases in five games against the Norfolk Tides last week. In the last 30 days (15 games), Ramos is sporting an .883 OPS with a .288/.383/.500 line.

Edgar Quero – MLB Pipeline White Sox #3

Edgar Quero has been adapting quickly to AAA pitching. The 21-year-old is now sporting a .305/.423/.525 slash line with a .948 OPS, seven extra base hits (four doubles, three home runs), 14 RBI, and 11 walks to 13 strikeouts in 17 games with the Knights.

Peyton Pallette – MLB Pipeline White Sox #10

Peyton Pallette’s run of dominance out of the Dash bullpen continued last week against Greensboro, as he notched two more scoreless appearances to his name and has only allowed two earned runs over his last eight appearances (15.2 innings).

George Wolkow – MLB Pipeline White Sox #12

18-year-old George Wolkow had a tougher go at the plate against Salem last week, striking out 11 times (walked three times) but still reached base in a third of his at-bats.

Nick Nastrini – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7

As you can tell from the stat line, it was not a good outing from Nick Nastrini against Norfolk last week, as giving up a seven-spot in any inning will typically allude to.

Colson Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #1

Colson Montgomery had another week of tough breaks at the dish, as his trying season continues for the Knights.

Jake Eder – MLB Pipeline White Sox #9

A five-spot was dropped on Jake Eder in his first inning of work against Norfolk, but on the bright side, he did settle in and lock down the Tides from thereon. Over the next four innings, Eder allowed just one hit and struck out six.

Jacob Gonzalez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #6

Nobody on the Barons hit particularly well last week, and Jacob Gonzalez was one of three Barons that tied for second most hits on the team with a total of three.

Trending on the Farm: AAA (Charlotte)

Mark Payton

32-year-old Mark Payton had a double, home run, and 10 total hits in six games last week with a 1.283 OPS. Payton also scored six runs and had four RBI.

Sean Burke – MLB Pipeline White Sox #20

24-year-old Sean Burke had a strong start for the Knights last week, rebounding nicely after a real tough outing in his previous start.

Rafael Ortega

33-year-old Rafael Ortega hit .333/.500/.583 with a 1.083 OPS in four games last week. Ortega homered, drove in six, scored four runs, and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Michael Chavis

28-year-old Michael Chavis doubled and homered posting a .940 OPS in five games last week.

Trey McGough

Acquired for Eloy Jimenez at the trade deadline, 26-year-old southpaw Trey McGough made one scoreless appearance against his former club, throwing two perfect innings while striking out four.

Adisyn Coffey

25-year-old righty Adisyn Coffey made three scoreless appearances last week, throwing three and two thirds total innings allowing just two hits while striking out four.

Trending on the Farm: AA (Birmingham)

Mason Adams – MLB Pipeline White Sox #19

24-year-old righty Mason Adams had a solid outing against Montomgery. After a fantastic run in AA, sporting a 2.44 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 101 strikeouts in 103.1 innings, Adams is reportedly set to be promoted to AAA Charlotte.

Jairo Iriarte – MLB Pipeline White Sox #8

22-year-old right-hander Jairo Iriarte had a nice outing for the Barons against the Biscuits last week. Iriarte chucked six innings allowing two hits, one run (earned), walked four, and struck out three.

Garrett Schoenle

26-year-old left-hander Garrett Schoenle hurled a strong scoreless appearance for the Barons last week. Schoenle threw innings allowing just one hit while striking out four.

Chase Plymell

26-year-old righty Chase Plymell made two appearances last week, pitching five and one third innings allowing four hits, one run (earned), and struck out five.

Trending on the Farm: A+ (Winston-Salem)

DJ Gladney

23-year-old DJ Gladney had a strong week at the plate for the Dash, batting .444/.500/.556 with a 1.056 OPS, eight total hits (two doubles), two runs, three RBI, and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Wes Kath

Recently turned 22-year-old (happy belated birthday Wes!) hit .364/.348/.636 for a .984 OPS last week against Greensboro. Kath scored five runs, eight hits (three doubles, home run), and five RBI.

Tommy Vail

25-year-old lefty Tommy Vail’s strong 2024 campaign continued against Greensboro last week. Vail now has 86 strikeouts, a 1.36 ERA, and a 0.94 WHIP in 53 innings pitched between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem this season.

Ben Beutel

24-year old left-hander Ben Beutel had a strong multi-inning outing for the Dash. Beutel threw three scoreless innings allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out four.

Lucas Gordon

22-year-old southpaw Lucas Gordon hurled four scoreless innings in his lone start last week. Gordon issued two free passes, didn’t allow a hit, and struck out six.

Trending on the Farm: A (Kannapolis)

Drake Logan

23-year-old outfielder Drake Logan paced the Kannapolis offense last week, slashing .500/.545/.950 for a 1.495 OPS. Logan scored five runs, had four extra base hits (double, triple, two home runs), and six RBI in six games played against Salem.

Mason Dinesen

26-year-old Mason Dinesen had six hits (including a home run), five runs scored, four RBI, and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Tanner McDougal – MLB Pipeline White Sox #18

21-year-old Tanner McDougal had a very strong start in his return to the Kannapolis rotation.

Ricardo Brizuela

21-year-old Ricardo Brizuela made two appearances last week, one of which was an excellent start. In total, Brizuela pitched eight and two thirds innings allowing seven hits, one run (earned) one walk, and 11 strikeouts.

Ronny Hernandez

19-year-old catcher Ronny Hernandez slashed .368/.478/.474 for a .952 OPS with five runs scored, seven total hits (two doubles), walked (four) as much as he struck out, and had an RBI in six games.

Jake Peppers

22-year-old Jake Peppers was strong in his weather-shortened start last week against Salem. Peppers pitched three and two thirds innings allowing two hits, one walk, and had four strikeouts.

Trending on the Farm: Rookie (DSL)

Ryan Castillo

19-year-old infielder Ryan Castillo had a double and five total hits across four games, including three RBI for an even 1.000 OPS on the week.

Marcelo Alcala

18-year-old outfielder Marcelo Alcala homered twice and drove in four for a .978 OPS in four games played last week for the DSL White Sox.

Jesus Premoli

17-year-old first baseman Jesus Premoli hit .333/.33/.583 for a .916 OPS with a home run and three RBI in four games last week.

Marco Barrios

18-year-old right-hander Marco Barrios made two relief appearances last week, throwing a total of four and one third innings allowing two hits, one run (earned), two walks, and struck out six.

17-year-old righty struck out eight in his start last week, throwing four total innings allowing four hits, three runs (two earned), and one walk.
