Trending on the Farm: Tim Elko and Bryan Ramos bite the Bats

The Trending on the Farm series will highlight player trends from the top prospects in the White Sox system as well as any other notable performances across all affiliates.

Top of the Crop (Trending on the Farm)

NOTE: This piece will focus on players that are trending on the farm currently in the minor leagues. Jonathan Cannon is omitted since he’s with the White Sox (and has since graduated from prospect status). The “Top of the Crop” portion was determined prior to the Dylan Cease trade, hence why Drew Thorpe, Samuel Zavala, and Jairo Iriarte are all omitted (Drew Thorpe has since graduated from prospect status).

Peyton Pallette – MLB Pipeline White Sox #10

Nick Nastrini – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7

Jake Eder – MLB Pipeline White Sox #9

A first inning that saw 25-year-old Jake Eder allow three runs was all the damage that the Louisville Bats could accumulate against him. Eder was able to keep the Bats in check, allowing just two hits over the next five frames.

Jacob Gonzalez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #6

22-year-old shortstop Jacob Gonzalez went 2-for-2 on stolen bases last week, but was otherwise quiet on the offensive side of the ball for the Barons in what has been a challenging assignment, Southern League pitching.
