Trending on the Farm: Barons secure Southern League Championship

While it was only one game, Jacob Gonzalez did reach base with a walk in the Barons Southern League Championship series sweep of the Montgomery Biscuits.

Trending on the Farm: AA (Birmingham)

DJ Gladney

23-year-old had two hits in game 2, with the second being the knock that secured the title for the Barons. DJ will be heading to the Arizona Fall League which kicks off next week.

Nick Podkul

27-year-old infielder Nick Podkul reached base twice in game 2 (single, walk) and made this spectacular play to keep the score tied at one for the Barons heading into the bottom of the 10th inning.

Michael Turner

26-year-old catcher Michael Turner had two hits, including an RBI, in the game 2 victory. Turner will also be representing the White Sox in the AFL.

Barons Bullpen

Peyton Pallette, Zach Franklin, Eric Adler, and Caleb Freeman were outstanding against the Biscuits in game 2, with the only blemish crossing the plate against Adler in the ninth. Pallette and Adler (and fellow teammate Andrew Dalquist) will also be participating in the AFL.
