White Sox Minor League Recap 6/7/2015 – Anderson’s still hot

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 6, Charlotte 0
Tim Anderson and Nick Delmonico each had two singles to lead the scoreless Knights offense. Anderson is currently hitting .304 and also swiped his 11th base this year. Jason Bourgeois (.426 average), Danny Hayes and Andy Parrino got the other hits for the team.
Jacob Turner was the bad luck starter for the Knights. Turner gave up six runs, three earned, as he struck out five over 5.2 innings. Brian Clark threw a scoreless 1.1 innings with two Ks in his AAA debut, and Tommy Kahnle had a perfect eighth.
Birmingham 7, Mobile 2
Adam Engel continued his AA resurrection by hitting his fourth homer of the year and going 2-4 while swiping his 17th stolen base. Eudy Pina and Joey DeMichele knocked in two runs each. Trey Michalczewski went 1-3 with a solo shot and two runs scored.
Meanwhile David Holmberg had a stellar start, going seven innings of two-run ball and striking out seven batters to one walk. Peter Tago pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

Kannapolis 3, Greenville 2
Christopher Comito led the pitching staff with six strong innings of two-run ball where he allowed three hits, two walks and struck out five batters. The teenage over-slot draft pick from 2015 struggled in early starts with Kannapolis, but he’s been improving against the challenge with each start. Drew Hasler got the hold with one perfect inning and Taylore Cherry got the save with two perfect innings and one strikeout.
On offense Grant Massey was 2-4 with a run scored and the team’s lone extra base hit, a double. Danny Mendick was 1-3 with an RBI and a walk, Cody Daily was 1-3 with a run scored and recently-signed Chicago area native Kyle Ruchim was 0-2 with the third RBI.
