White Sox top prospect Carson Fulmer is being called up to the majors according to FanGraph’s Jesse Burkhart and Barstool’s White Sox Dave. He’d be taking Chris Beck’s vacated spot on the 25-man roster and Scott Carroll’s spot on the 40-man roster.

Fulmer could take starter Carlos Rodon’s slot in the rotation until Rodon returns from the 15-day DL, where he went with a sprained left wrist. But signals indicate he’d be in the bullpen for the balance of the season, most likely.
The righty has been less than stellar this season, rocking a 1.53 WHIP and 4.76 ERA, though he has been on a bit of a hot streak lately. In his last three starts, Fulmer has allowed two runs in 19 innings while striking out 22 batters with nine walks. This could be the result of finally settling in with changes he’s made this year. We explored those changes in detail in this article a few weeks ago.
Fulmer has been supposedly showing off a cutter recently, a Don Cooper classic, so the Sox may want their 2015 first round draft pick to work with Cooper and then move to the bullpen after Rodon returns.
Between Vanderbilt and the White Sox farm system last season, Fulmer threw 150.2 innings and currently sits at 87 innings this season. If he moves to the bullpen for the rest of the 2016 season, it’s extremely unlikely Fulmer gets back to 150+ innings.
