8/8/16 Recap: Affiliates complete sweep, Barnette has strong outing behind Michalczewski’s big night

The affiliates all found themselves in the win column last night. Tyler Barnette had a decent outing for the Barons while Trey Michalczewski gave him all the run support he needed. Down in Arizona, Victor Done had his best outing since arriving stateside.
Birmingham 10, Jackson 3
Tyler Barnette notched himself a quality start, allowing just one run across six innings of work. While he walked three batters, he also added eight strikeouts to minimize any scoring threats. Keenyn Walker went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and swiped his 20th bag of the season. Alfredo Gonzalez went 2-for-5 and is hitting .326 in 25 games since coming over from the Houston Astros last month. Trey Michalczewski had the big night for the Barons. He went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. He even added a pair of walks for good measure.

Kannapolis 8, Hagerstown 4
Intimidators starter Jimmy Lambert went three scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and collecting four strikeouts. However, Mike Morrison got the win despite giving up two earned runs, three hits, and a home run over three frames. Kannapolis really shined on offense, where they put on a hit parade. They tallied 17 hits in total, with three hitters turning in three-hit games. Alex Call was one of them, going 3-for-5 with a double while Zach Remillard also went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Danny Mendick had a perfect evening, going 3-for-3 with a pair of walks. Micker Adolfo went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.

Great Falls 11, Ogden 9
Jake Elliott didn’t fair well in his outing. He was issued with five earned runs on seven hits  over four innings of work, and gave up the long ball. Aaron Bummer was credited with the win later in the contest. He threw 1.2 scoreless innings and padded his resume with four strikeouts. Aaron Schnurbusch was a 28th rounder in 2016, but he continues to rake in Rookie Ball. His 1-for-4, BB, 2 runs scored night actually lowered his season average to .389. Corey Zangari went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Jameson Fisher also had a two hit night with an RBI and walk.
Yosmer Solorzano is scheduled to start for Great Falls this evening.
AZL White Sox 5, AZL D-Backs 0

Victor Done had his best outing since coming stateside, throwing five scoreless frames and posting seven strikeouts to only two walks. Dante Flores went 2-for-4 with a triple and double. Louis Silverio went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Michael Hickman had a fine evening, going 2-for-3 with a double and a free pass.
