Star of the Day: Keon Barnum has had an incredibly rough start to the season. The young first baseman had only 10 hits over 17 games going into today but knocked out three tonight to hopefully kick start a hot streak.
Who is Hot: Tyler Danish didn’t record a single strikeout but went six strong innings only allowing 1 earned run. Danish has a stellar 1.35 ERA over his first four starts of 2014. Carlos Sanchez continues his torrid streak, going 2-4 with a walk today. Andy Wilkins has struggled thus far, but blasted a three run homer today and added a double for good measure. Tony Bucciferro went eight innings today, holding Potomac to two earned runs. Former Mets closer Frank Francisco made his Charlotte debut, going one inning and not allowing any earned runs.
Who is Not: The Barons were two hit today by the rival Tennessee Smokies (Cubs affiliate). Other than the Barons, it was a strong showing by the farm.
