Amidst a forgettable campaign for Low-A Kannapolis, the performance of White Sox No. 13 prospect Bryan Ramos proved to be a bright spot as the 19-year-old infielder headlines the FutureSox MiLB Team of the Week for the period of May 24-30, 2021.

Here’s a look at the full lineup:

Catcher — Tyler Osik (Low-A) — 3 G, .364/.462/.455, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R

  • Low-A catcher Tyler Osik hit safely in three straight games against Carolina (MIL) before he appeared to suffer a tweak while legging out a double Friday night. Osik, whom the White Sox selected in the 27th round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Central Florida, collected a pair of RBI, scored three times and struck out just once in 13 plate appearances this week for the Cannon Ballers.

First baseman — Gavin Sheets (Double-A) — 4 G, .438/.471/.625, HR, 5 RBI, 3 R

  • White Sox No. 9 prospect Gavin Sheets made it an easy call at first base with another standout week at Triple-A Charlotte. The former second-round pick posted a .438/.471/.625 slash line across four games and tallied five RBI to power the Knights. Sheets paces Charlotte with 19 RBI this season, which is his first at Triple-A.

Second baseman — Bryan Ramos (Low-A) — 6 G, .381/.440/.714, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB

  • White Sox No. 13 prospect Bryan Ramos hit safely in five of his six games and belted his first two home runs at the Low-A level to earn Player of the Week honors. The 19-year-old infielder seems to have found a home in the cleanup spot and owns a .375/.462/.656 slash line hitting in that slot in the order.

Third baseman — Laz Rivera (Double-A) — 5 G, .333/.412/.600, 2B, HR, 6 RBI, 6 R

  • Laz Rivera’s career-high five-RBI performance Sunday afternoon catapulted him into the lead spot at third base this week. Rivera, whom the White Sox selected in the 28th round of the 2017 MLB Draft from the University of Tampa, scored six runs over the five-game stretch and has hit safely in three of his past four games.

Shortstop — Zach Remillard (Triple-A) — 3 G, .400/.500/.600, 2 2B, RBI, 2 R, SB

  • Triple-A newcomer Zach Remillard posted solid figures across the board in each of his three starts against Norfolk (BAL). The 27-year-old infielder, who earned a promotion to the Knights on May 19, has hit safely in four straight contests and recorded his seventh stolen base of the season Thursday night.

Outfield — Brian Goodwin (Triple-A) — 4 G, .438/.526/.500, 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 2 SB

  • Brian Goodwin filled the box score for Triple-A Charlotte and earned the nod at the first of three outfield positional honors this week. Goodwin, who owns more than 1,000 games of MLB experience, did the majority of his damage Friday night with a four-hit, three-RBI effort against Norfolk (BAL).

Outfield — Adam Engel (Triple-A rehab) — 4 G, .375/.389/.625, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R, SB

  • White Sox outfielder Adam Engel impressed throughout the first four games of his rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte. The 29-year-old center fielder recorded hits in all four games, which included a home run in his season debut. Engel is in recovery from a hamstring strain suffered during Spring Training. He batted .295/.333/.477 with three home runs and 12 RBI for the White Sox last season.

Outfield — Zack Granite (Double-A) — 5 G, .263/.400/.474, 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 5 R, 3 SB

  • Former Minnesota Twins outfielder Zack Granite put together a complete effort in Double-A Birmingham’s series against Rocket City (LAA). Granite posted a pair of multi-hit efforts, homered in Sunday’s dominant 17-4 showing for the Barons and stole three bases against the Trash Pandas.

Starting pitcher — Johan Dominguez (Hi-A) — W, 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K

  • Right-hander Johan Dominguez continued to pitch lights-out for Hi-A Winston-Salem. The 25-year-old tossed six shutout innings Saturday and allowed just one hit while striking out six against Hickory (TEX). Dominguez lowered his WHIP to a sterling 0.71 and opponents own just a .159 clip against him this season.

Relief pitcher — Jake Elliott (Double-A) — 2 G, 2 W, 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K

  • Six-foot-7, 230-pound right-hander Jake Elliott produced a pair of dominant efforts out of the bullpen for Double-A Birmingham. The 26-year-old Oklahoma product delivered a pair of scoreless innings and earned the victory Tuesday. He followed with three shutout frames and a win Sunday afternoon. Elliott allowed just one hit in the five innings of work.
