FutureSox MiLB Team of the Week — Aug. 30 – Sept. 5

White Sox No. 10 prospect Jose Rodriguez continued to shine for High-A Winston-Salem to earn the highlight spot in the FutureSox Team of the Week. He’s joined by a pair of other Top 30 prospects — Micker Adolfo (No. 15) and Bryan Ramos (No. 11). 

Here’s a look at the full lineup for the period of Aug. 30 – Sept. 5:

Catcher — Carlos Perez (Double-A) — 7 G, .393/.393/.571, 2 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 3 R

  • Double-A catcher Carlos Perez extended his impressive stretch at the plate with hits in six of Birmingham’s seven games against Chattanooga (CIN). The 24-year-old backstop belted his 10th home run of the season as part of a four-hit night Saturday, and recorded three extra-base hits throughout the week. Perez owns a .304 clip at the plate over his past 15 games and he paces the Barons with 51 RBI this season.

First baseman — Jameson Fisher (Double-A) —7 G, .273/.429/.364, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 6 BB, 3 R

  • Former fourth-round pick Jameson Fisher earned recognition for the second straight week after he posted a .429 on-base percentage throughout Double-A Birmingham’s seven-game series against Chattanooga (CIN). Fisher, 27, has produced a standout .951 OPS since July 25, as well as a 125 wRC+ over the course of the season.

Second baseman — Bryan Ramos (Low-A) — 6 G, .211/.318/.368, 2B, 3B, RBI, R, SB

  • White Sox No. 11 prospect Bryan Ramos logged a pair of extra-base hits and stole his 12th base of the season to pick up the weekly honor at second base. The 19-year-old infielder helped provide an offensive spark in Low-A Kannapolis’ 6-5 loss against Down East (TEX) on Friday with a double and a triple. Ramos owns an impressive .343/.425/.657 slash line over his past 10 games. He ranks fifth in the Low-A East Division in doubles (21) and extra-base hits (35).

Third baseman — DJ Gladney (Low-A) — 2 G, .200/.333/.800, HR, RBI, R, BB

  • The past week marked a troublesome period for third basemen throughout the system. Jake Burger homered in Charlotte’s series finale, but struck out in 39 percent of his at-bats throughout the series. Luis Curbelo recorded just one hit in six games for Winston-Salem, while Wilfred Veras and Wes Kath combined to go 2-for-24 in the ACL. So … let’s give the weekly recognition to DJ Gladney, who snapped a 1-for-37 stretch at the plate with a solo shot in Low-A Kannapolis’ series finale against Down East (TEX) on Sunday. The homer marked Gladney’s sixth of the season.

Shortstop — Jose Rodriguez (Hi-A) — 6 G, .435/.458/.565, 3 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 2 SB

  • White Sox No. 10 prospect Jose Rodriguez found himself in the highlight spot for the FutureSox Team of the Week, once more, as the 20-year-old middle infielder filled the box score for Hi-A Winston-Salem. Rodriguez hit safely in all six games throughout the week, which included four multi-hit efforts, and added a pair of stolen bases in Friday’s 6-3 loss. The Valverde, Dominican Republic, native owns a dynamite .374/.398/.516 slash line in 23 games since he earned a promotion to the Dash on Aug. 10.

Outfield — Tyler Neslony (Double-A) — 5 G, .308/.438/.615, 2B, HR, RBI, 3 R, 3 BB

  • Unranked outfielder Tyler Neslony continued to impress with Double-A Birmingham with a 1.053 OPS in five games against Chattanooga (CIN). Neslony, whom the White Sox acquired from the Atlanta Braves on July 11, holds a remarkable .379/.476/.701 slash line in 28 games with the Barons, as well as an unparalleled 218 wRC+.

Outfield — James Beard (Low-A) — 6 G, .261/.346/.522, 3 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB

  • Low-A outfielder James Beard recorded four extra-base hits in six games to earn the second of three outfield spots in the FutureSox Team of the Week. Beard, 20, posted a pair of multi-hit efforts in Kannapolis’ series against Down East (TEX) and launched his fifth home run of the season in Friday’s 6-5 loss.

Outfield — Micker Adolfo (Triple-A) — 6 G, .286/.286/.619, 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 2 SB

  • White Sox No. 15 prospect Micker Adolfo delivered his 20th and 21st homers of the season in Triple-A Charlotte’s series against Norfolk (BAL) to earn himself a spot in the Team of the Week lineup. The 24-year-old outfielder holds a 127 wRC+ in 28 games with the Knights, and has hit safely in five of the past six games. Adolfo also swiped a pair of bases throughout the week to match his career-high in a season (3). Adolfo, who has enjoyed a clean bill of health this year, also owns career-high marks in home runs (21), slugging percentage (.532) and OPS (.852).

Starting pitcher — Davis Martin (Double-A) — W, 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

  • Double-A right-hander Davis Martin struck out five batters and allowed just one hit across five shutout frames Saturday to capture the Pitcher of the Week honor. Martin, 24, has not allowed a run over his past 11 innings (three appearances). The 2018 14th-round selection out of Texas Tech has held opponents to a .174 clip at the plate through four starts at the Double-A level.

Relief pitcher — Haylen Green (ROK, ACL) — 2 G, 1 GF, 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K

  • Former TCU standout Haylen Green continued to impress in the early stages of his professional career with three scoreless innings of work out of the bullpen for the ACL White Sox. The 24-year-old southpaw, made a pair of appearances with the Rookie-level affiliate over the past week and struck out five batters while allowing just one baserunner. Green holds a dominant 16.20 K/9 rate in his first four outings with the organization.
