White Sox Minors Recap 8/22: Anderson has memorable AA debut

Fresh off his rehab assignment, Tim Anderson returned to a full season affiliate in a big way while making his first AA appearance. Marcus Semien homered and Trey Michalczewski had his best game yet with Winston-Salem.
Knights 7, Norfolk 1
Marcus Semien blasted his 11th home run of the season and Jared Mitchell reached base three times (1-3, 2 BB). Bobby Doran gave up a run in six innings for the win.
Mississippi 3, Barons 2
Tim Anderson 3-3, 2B
Anderson not only returned from his rehab assignment in Arizona, but made his AA debut. It was a strong debut as well. Tony Bucciferro took the loss despite a quality start.
Carolina 8, Dash 7
Cleuluis Rondon 1-3, 2 BB, K
Trey Michalczewski 3-4, 2B, BB
J.B. Wendelken got rocked on the mound, but Michalczewski’s big day was a bright spot. The third baseman is hitting .250/.357/.306 in 10 games with the Dash since getting promoted from Kannapolis. Huge games from Robbins and Fisher led the Voyagers’ to a win in this high-scoring game. Matt Ball gave up five earned runs in 3.2 innings to raise his ERA over 7.
D’Backs 3, Arizona White Sox 2 (10 innings)
Antonio Rodriguez and Cody Yount had two hits each and the Sox had just six in total. Lucas Shearrow gave up two runs in five innings.
