This series will recap the performances of each White Sox minor league affiliate throughout the previous week. Here is the 22nd installment of the 2022 season.
Charlotte Knights (50-79)
Weekly Record: 1-5
The division leading Durham Bulls were in town last week taking on the Knights. The Bulls proved to be too tough to match for Charlotte, as the Knights dropped five of six games in the series. The Knights are in last place and are 23 games back in the International League East Division.
Despite the drubbing the team took in the series, the Charlotte offense was pretty productive. The Knights hit Durham pitching to a .287/.336/.472 slash line and an .808 OPS. Charlotte also scored 31 runs, had 46 hits in 195 at-bats, nine doubles, nine home runs, 11 walks to 44 strikeouts, and went 6-for-8 on stolen bases. Charlotte’s pitching staff stunk a bit less than the previous week, but still did not perform well against the Bulls. The Knights left the series with a team ERA of 6.00, a 1.57 WHIP, and a .275 Batting Average Against. They also allowed 37 runs (34 earned), 56 hits to 51 innings pitched, 24 walks to 56 strikeouts, hit two batters and allowed 12 home runs. Tyler Neslony: Tyler Neslony showed those Bulls who was boss last week. The 28 year-old outfielder slashed .467/.500/.933 for a 1.433 OPS, hit one double, two home runs, three RBI, scored three runs, went 1-for-1 on stolen bases, and had seven hits in 15 at-bats.

Birmingham Barons (56-70)
Weekly Record: 3-3
First Half: 31-38
Second Half: 25-32
Project Birmingham saw its second week of action, this time with the Montgomery Biscuits playing host. The Barons had a slow start to the series, but roared back winning three of the last four en route to working a series split. The Barons are in third place and nine games back in the second half in the Southern League North Division.
The Project Birmingham offense wasn’t quite as productive as they were in week one, but still had their moments. The Barons slashed .227/.291/.422 for a .713 OPS. Birmingham also scored 29 runs, had 48 hits in 211 at-bats, 14 doubles, no triples, nine home runs, 13 walks to 66 strikeouts, and went 8-for-11 on stolen bases. Project Birmingham’s pitching staff showed improvement in week two. The Barons pitching staff left Montgomery with a 4.33 team ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a .250 Batting Average Against. The Barons also allowed 29 runs (26 earned), 50 hits to 54 innings pitched, 31 walks to 57 strikeouts, hit three batters and allowed six home runs. Bryan Ramos: Bryan Ramos was one of a handful of Barons to participate in every game last week. Ramos slashed .300/.364/.600 for a .964 OPS, hit three doubles, one home run, three RBI, scored three runs, and had six hits in 20 at-bats.

Winston-Salem Dash (56-70)
Weekly Record: 2-4
First Half: 33-33
Second Half: 23-37
The Greensboro Grasshoppers welcomed the Dash to town last week and the struggles continued for the Winston-Salem crew. The Dash lost four of six in the series as they head into their final week of the season. The Dash are in last place and 12.5 games back in the second half in the South Atlantic League South Division.
The “yikes” offensive performance from the previous week apparently followed the Dash to Greensboro last week. Winston-Salem slashed .178/.268/.254 for a .522 OPS. The Dash also scored 22 runs, had 35 hits in 197 at-bats, seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 24 walks to 62 strikeouts, and went 9-for-13 on stolen bases. The pitching staff for Winston-Salem had themselves a very productive week on the mound. The Dash concluded the series with a team ERA of 3.86, a 1.27 WHIP, and a .221 Batting Average Against. Winston-Salem also allowed 26 runs (22 earned) on 40 hits over 51.1 innings, 25 walks to 56 strikeouts, hitting four batters and allowed five home runs. Hunter Dollander: Hunter Dollander had a fantastic start against the Grasshoppers last week. The 25 year-old threw six innings allowing two hits, no runs, no walks, struck out seven, had a .100 Batting Average Against, and a 0.33 WHIP.

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (56-70)
Weekly Record: 3-3
First Half: 26-40
Second Half: 30-30
In the penultimate series of the season for the Cannon Ballers, they took a trip to play the Lynchburg Hillcats. In second half Ballers fashion, they played some close games and left Lynchburg with a series split. Kannapolis is in third place and seven games back in the second half in the Carolina League South Division.
The Kannapolis offense suffered a setback against the Hillcats pitching staff. The Ballers ended the series with a .251/.302/.361 slash line for a .663 OPS. Kannapolis also scored 27 runs, had 55 hits in 219 at-bats, 12 doubles, no triples, four home runs, 12 walks to 64 strikeouts, and went 8-for-9 on stolen bases. The Cannon Ballers pitching staff was once again leading the charge of the teams success. Kannapolis had a team ERA of 3.63, a 1.25 WHIP, and a .212 Batting Average Against. The Cannon Ballers allowed 26 runs (21 earned) on 41 hits over 52 innings, issuing 24 walks against 47 strikeouts, all while hitting one batter and allowing two home runs.
