Charlotte Knights (55-86)
Weekly Record: 1-5
With only two and a half weeks left in their season, the Knights hit the road to take on the Norfolk Tides. The road trip got off to a rocky start, as Charlotte dropped five of six to their divisional foes. Good news is on the way for the Knights however, as both Oscar Colás and Sean Burke are reportedly joining the club for their final nine games of the year. Charlotte has a solid grip on last place and are 24 games back in the International League East Division.
The Knights offense endured a bit of a setback last week against the Tides pitching staff. Charlotte wrapped the series with a .227/.329/.389 slash line for a .718 OPS. The Knights also scored 28 runs, had 46 hits in 203 at-bats, 12 doubles, no triples, seven home runs, 28 walks to 48 strikeouts, and went 10-for-11 on stolen bases. Get ready, this pitching line is a real knee-slapper. The Knights pitching staff were serving up meatballs left and right and ended the series with a team ERA of 10.29, a 2.18 WHIP, and a .332 Batting Average Against. They also allowed 61 runs (56 earned), 69 hits to 49 innings pitched, 38 walks to 54 strikeouts, hit five batters and allowed 12 home runs. Lenyn Sosa: In what was a pretty horrendous week for the team, Lenyn Sosa made his plate appearances count last week. The 22 year-old infielder slashed .286/.375/.619 for a .994 OPS, hit one double, two home runs, three RBI, scored five runs, and had six hits in 21 at-bats.

Birmingham Barons (61-77)
Weekly Record: 2-4
First Half: 31-38
Second Half: 30-39
Project Birmingham came to an end last week, as the Barons played their final series of the year visiting the Rocket City Trash Pandas. If you lose four games in a row, you’re going to have a bad time, which is what happened to the Barons last week. Birmingham finished their season in third place and 10 games back in the second half in the Southern League North Division.
The offense once again struggled for the Barons. Birmingham slashed .224/.299/.383 for a .682 OPS. The Barons were also able to score 23 runs, knock 45 hits in 201 at-bats, 11 doubles, no triples, seven home runs, 16 walks to 61 strikeouts, and went 9-for-10 on stolen bases. The Barons pitching staff concocted another solid outing as they wrapped up their season. Birmingham held a 3.96 team ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and a .239 Batting Average Against. Birmingham also allowed 24 runs (22 earned), 44 hits to 50 innings pitched, 28 walks to 60 strikeouts, hit five batters and allowed four home runs. Andrew Dalquist: Andrew Dalquist had a fantastic start for the Barons last week. The 21 year old Dalquist threw four innings allowing only one hit, one run (unearned), one walk, hit one batter, struck out six, had a .083 Batting Average Against and a 0.50 WHIP.
